We have been living in a local village in Vientiane, Laos for 3 months now and we've decided to show you guys around and give you a taste of our daily life here.

This is one of the nicest comments we've ever had, thank you! It means a lot to us 😊 for budget we try to spend $30 a day (so $15 per person) but sometimes we have spent over and sometimes under. So we just work out how much we needed to save based on this (this doesnt include flights and visas though) you really dont need a lot of money to travel in south east asia! You can also volunteer and work as you go which helps too 🙂

Sometimes 'western price' isn't too bad, especially in more local villages. We found luang Prabang to be a lot more expensive for us when it comes to things like markets. An expat told us there is three tiers to buying here in laos. There is tourist price, price for westerners who can speak Lao and then local price.

haha. love the lady thumping the melon. I was doing that in the grocery store here in the USA the other day and woman looked at me and asked what I was doing. I told her the general idea. If the melon is not ripe, it is hard and thumping it gives a different sound than if it is too ripe and mushy inside which gives a different sound. She asked me to demonstrate and she got it. But the initial look on her face was like I had escaped from the insane asylum. Sad how out of touch people are with growing vegetables or knowing what they are buying. Of course in most of the USA the groceries are shipped en masse from different parts of the country and most are picked on the not rip side. Horrible flavor compared to freshly local grown

There used to be a group called project s lao but they all seem to be gone now. Surely theres some people who do it but not many. Would be cool if more people joined especially the younger generation instead of spending their time on mobile phones 💡🙂 Thanks for watching🙏

There is a group of skateboarders in Vientiane and Luangprabang. In Vientiane they usually skate at Parkson shopping mall nowadays and back then they used to skate at Thatluang. A few of them are as good as the Thai skaters. I bring skate gear to the kids everytime I travel to Laos ( half Lao skater based in Singapore).

I've seen Olivia has the same bike in a few episodes. I was talking to a friend living in Malaysia and she said it wasn't allowed to take a bike up an elevator to her apartment. It looks like you might live in a house but do you know if you can keep a bike in an apartment? Having been a bike messenger I feel really uncomfortable if my bike is in any place other then my home/apartment.

The bike was borrowed from our landlord but I'm pretty sure you would be fine with your bike in your apartment here, Lao people are very laid back and I'm sure its not a big deal 👍

Thanks! Laos has had no new cases in 2 months and everyone has recovered with no deaths! I think that many countries will still have the borders closed or restricted in September, we are struggling to find flights back home, so it might be best to postpone your trip for now!
