We were foster parents for 30 years. We had over 130 children. We adopted one child. God called us to be his hands and feet until their family got the help they needed. We have been able to help decide what families were best for some of them. We didn’t feel God calling us to adopt. Was so happy to be a part of several of our children being adopted. You are special to adopt your children, God knows where to place these children!

Shelly, Jared .. I want to thank you for sharing your story about Connor. I too am a foster child, I had the best foster family after enduring years of abuse I was very thankful for my new family.. I was there for a little over a year and in that time we instantly bonded and grew to love each other very much. My grandparents were able to find me and wanted custody of me, so I had to leave, my foster dad was so emotional and crying my foster mother has said he's never done that with any other placement. After leaving my foster home to live with my family I went through a lot of abuse again, but was too scared to reach out to my foster family because my grandparents told me I was to old & would age out and that my foster family wouldn't want me,.. I cut ties with my biological family & have made contact with my foster family ,I talk to them daily now for the last 3 yrs and still consider them my parents. I too relate to Connor about having a lot of history and stories to tell.. I can't wait to hear about him more & to meet him. I'm very excited for you guys and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers thank you for sharing your story. ❤

😭 Shelly I am balling watching Jared hold onto you as you talk about something that is so difficult. I am so happy y'all found Conner. You and Jared are the most selfless, caring, genuine people and that's why I love watching you!!!! A lot of the reasons Connor is in prison or just the same as everyone else there they slipped through the cracks and the cracks are wide and deep it's very sad! They don't get much in prison either as in rehab and it is so hard for them to come back into society without a family who cares. I am so happy y'all are going to be there for him and I can't wait to see what great things are ahead 😉 Welcome back to The Crazy Middles Connor 🥰💖

Hey guys just wanted to say thank you for sharing this story my mum has fostered over 100 children and most of them were full term some where short term but very much loved I have a foster brother who has been in and out of prison since he was 15 he was out for just over a year and now he is back in for 10yrs and he is 52yrs old now and we miss him like crazy but no visitors allowed a phone call once in awhile but we never gave up on him because we love him no matter what he did you guys are awesome ❤️ xxxx

Oh this is so exciting! We are so ready to meet him! It sounds like he’s been through so much.. and having lost his family twice didn’t help him… reuniting should be a huge push for him to do better and turn his life around. Now he has hope and belonging. Keep up the good behavior Connor, so you can go HOME where you belong. ❤ Please share everyone’s excitement with him!

Connor must have been so happy to find out they have been looking for him all these years. I can't even imagine how it must feel to get your family back while you're in prison of all places. It should give him hope and perspective.

Feeling loved and knowing you have people who really want to see you and be with you is so important. Especially realising that both sides have been looking for each other for so long. Hopefully they will never need to be separated again. 💙🧡💙

I can only imagine how overjoyed you both are that you have found your son! And that he has been looking for you as well. It is such an incentive for Connor to earn his GED, knowing that it will bring him home to his loving family sooner. I will add my prayers for an early release and a bright future for a young man who temporarily lost his way. May God continue to bless your family.

😢 oh gosh how emotional that must of been so hard for you to share. I am crying as much as you. How amazing for this young man to have found each other again. What a shame he had to leave in the first place, you would of given him the best life. I am sure you will all make up for it 10 fold. So happy for you hope all goes to plan. ❤❤❤❤

Connor is so blessed to be part of your family! It's sad to think the trajectory of his life would have been so different had he stayed with you. Having said that, we are taught that God has a plan for all our lives, though it's very difficult to accept that this was God's plan for Connor. To be taken from your family, and to be apart from you all these years. But, we also have free will, and unfortunately, for Connor, he used his free will to run away. He must have been desperately unhappy to choose that path! All you can all do now is to enjoy now. To keep building family relationships with him and to give him all your love. My questions: How old is Connor now? How did you tell the children about him, especially explaining that he's in jail atm? Did you tell the younger kids separately from the older kids ? Will he stay with you for a while when his fist released? Thank you, Helen 🇦🇺

This is heartbreaking, & yet, this is heartwarming. I am sure this provides hope to other children in the foster care system right now
