A pile of possibilities! I love that description of a TBR! As a mood reader that is exactly what my physical tbr is. Ebooks are completely unknown, whatever catches my eye reads. You’ve got quite the tbr this time, a lot of very interesting sounding novels in there! Hope whatever you end up getting into, I hope you and Olive enjoy it!
@BookBlather8 ай бұрын
Me too! I never even did TBRs until this year, as I’m such a mood reader, I felt like I couldn’t commit to anything. But I’ve gotten slightly more organized about it, so I’m giving it a try. Just not going to stay wedded to them. I figure if I stay 2/3 on plan, that’s good 😊

@@BookBlather hope it works out for you! I always pick mine based on whatever series I’m in the middle of and loving if I’ve found the sequels and a couple options from my favorite genres. That way whatever my mood might be it’s covered by one of the books from the pile. My kindle is the unknown filler. Of course as the best pirates will say, “they’re more like guidelines anyway!” 😊

@@BookBlather It's from the beginnings to the New Wave. Due to lack of time, there are large gaps unfortunately. We began with Geoffrey Chaucer's "The Squires Tale" (it has a robot). Then Frankenstein, of course. We also did (or are about to do): Strange Manuscript in a Copper Cylinder (James DeMille), A Princess of Mars, Dragonflight (Anne McCaffrey) and Left Hand of Darkness. I also did the 1953 film Invaders from Mars and the first appearance of the Daleks from Dr Who (1963) to show the influence of the Cold War on Science Fiction (infiltration anxieties and far of Nuclear war).

Great tbr! I really enjoyed reading A Study In Scarlet last month, only the second Sherlock Holmes I have ever read, I would love to buddyread the entire Dragonlance series with you. I remember mentioning a buddyread of Dragons of Autumn Twilight with someone in January and February, if it was you I apologise. I was always a kind of mad professor as a teacher, which got me in a world of trouble. Speaking of which, I would love to revisit my favorite character ever... Tas. I would love to get to The Handmaid's Tale some day. 🐶🐶🐶

Pretty sure I have "Battling the Gods" around here somewhere. I'd be glad to join in if you get to it. It doesn't have to be a structured deal since you have other buddy reads going. Maybe we could just swap impressions about anything that stands out. Loved me some Dragonlance back in the day -- especially the Chronicles and Legends. I'm almost afraid to re-read any of it for fear of destroying the nostalgia factor. I've read the Simak short story "Desertion" which I think he incorporated into "City." I thought the story worked very well on its own, but curiosity will probably drive me to read the novel sooner or later. Nice video. Hope y'all have a good one! Edit: Oh, and CB Angel looks hilariously trashy. Even so, I have my doubts that cover artist has been anywhere near a real truckstop. 😬😂
