Absolutely brilliant! My grandmother was german and moved to my home country just after WW2. She couldn’t return to her childhood village. We didn’t live in my country back when I was a child and whenever we visited, she’d take us on some kind of pilgrimage to every significant (to her!) location in my father’s life. The first apartment, his schools, the baker, the pharmacy, the location of multiple buildings that had long since been taken down, places where he or his brother had skinned a knee, the water fountain where they’d get water because the taps of that apartment only gave brown, stinky water, the grumpy old man’s building and the nice nun’s park bench… Over the years we knew all the landmarks. She’d still drag us along each and every one of them. Every single time we had to go on even the smallest errand the pilgrimage would start over. Whenever a person or a person’s place was mentioned you’d hear wether (s)he had passed and for how long or how long they were likely to last before passing.

1:19 "Hols histamine" had me rolling. For anyone who doesn't know, Hills Hoist is a brilliant Australian invention that's popular here in Aotearoa/ New Zealand as well. Not sure who invented the rotary clothesline, which is fantastic but, was limited by needing to be at a comfortable height to hang the clothes on it. Hills took it next level by adding a winding mechanism so that once you'd hung your clothes you could wind it higher to catch the breeze and lower it again to bring the laundry back in later. 😊
@souadghazal2533Ай бұрын
LOL ! Thank you for telling us about it. I use my laundry racks to dry my clothes in the fresh air. Had to google for some more info. Dryers are what most people use here in the US.

@@souadghazal2533 You're welcome. If you've got the space for one they're brilliant although l don't imagine they're available stateside.
