Dear Homeowners, First go online to your County property tax records and check to see if your crazy neighbors are on the tax records as owners or if their landlord name & address is recorded. If they are renters; send off a letter to the landlord describing what is happening and the date & time of the Police visit. Let the Landlord know these people’s actions are lowering the property value etc. sometimes the landlord has enough cause to evict them.
@alinatamashevich3354

Also, if they are buying and have a mortgage, you can send a letter to the mortgage company informing them of their actions and or property conditions (if in disrepair) . That will trigger a visit.

A couple of my neighbors are feuding and are real petty lol. It started with a 9year old kid flying a mini drone above his own house and the back neighbor thought it was a spy drone. There are now trail cams/security cameras involved and the cops are called weekly over the stupid crap. We all have about 5 acres of land so we aren’t right on top of each other. The neighbors just share a section of woods behind their properties. I’m not in the middle of it but both wife’s text me about it to vent lol.

Agree. Why should the caller's family be forced to move? I would keep calling the cops and documenting everything. If they are renters, the landlord needs to be notified of all of this. A year ago, my husband and I had to finally move from our well-loved home of 16 years. Our previous next-door neighbor moved out of state and "rented" his house to his ex-convict son. The son had been in and out of prison for over 30 years, was a drug addict and played extremely loud satanic-type music all day. The owner of the house did not leave a forwarding address with the city or county. The police were called by multiple home owners on the street multiple times. The police also had a warrant out for the son's arrest. When I asked the policeman why they didn't arrest him since they had out a warrant for his arrest (this time for theft) the policeman looked me in the eye and said they had to save their few remaining beds for worse offenders. I said to him "So in other words, until this guy kills one of us, he will be free to continue what he is doing" and the officer said "Yes". After two other families sold their homes and moved - the last one being a retired judge (yes, it was a very nice neighborhood), we finally realized we had to leave. It has been very costly for us (our previous house was paid off), but it was worth it for the peace of mind. So bottom line: this does happen in "nice" neighborhoods, calling the police and even having a warrant out for arrest means nothing, just because people are renting does not mean you can find the owner.

If the neighbors are that obnoxious, they may also try to scare off potential buyers. When I was looking at a rental house last year, the guy across the street came over and started yelling at me from the sidewalk. The realtor who was showing the house said she was having problems renting that house because of him. To just ignore him.😮 I told her to video record each time he does that and the property owner needs to sue him for causing loss of income for each month the house stayed on the market. (And, no, I did not rent that place. Did not want the headache.)

@@sitcomchristian6886Yes, but a neighborhood where all the residents own their properties is different. If a house stays on the market vacant for several months before it is sold, it's no big deal. Owners have pride in their neighborhood. They are proactive when dealing with crime and the streets and yards will be well kept and clean. Let a property management company buy that house and move renters in, crime, vandalism, littering and just generally irresponsible behavior will become the norm instead. Renters are the worst. I know. I had some rental properties my Dad bought in the 80's and 90's. If rental properties get prolific in a neighborhood you might as well sell to management company and get out quick. Its all down hill from there.

Sounds similar to my neighbors. When the neighbors moved in, we had four security cameras covering our property. After their antics started, we now have nine cameras and I'm looking to put in four more to have more complete coverage all around the property. We caught someone (presumably their kids) throwing eggs at our house. (I say "someone" since we don't have cameras pointing at their property, but our cameras recorded the eggs sailing over the fence from their property.) The husband played music so loud that I downloaded a decibel meter and recorded the sound level on my front porch. Some days it was over 90 decibels. I didn't file nuisance complaints. I just held on to the recorded sound-level values in case I needed them later and waited for him to get tired of trying to harass us. We just ignored everything they did but kept evidence of it in case things escalated. Eventually he did get tired of trying to harass us or maybe he just found someone else to focus his juvenile antics toward, but I'm still putting in the extra cameras.

I have a rental and a neighbor moved out and the new owner was a real jerk to my tenant all over a tree. He yelled at her "You tell that land lord of yours I'm going to charge him $50 every time I have to rake those leaves!" This was a Sycamore tree with huge leaves thar drop in the fall, in central Florida deciduous trees aren't that common: most of our trees hVe small leaves that don't drop all at once like this, but I wad 100% legally in the right. So I went to see him, and he wouldn't come out. My tenant thinks its because I'm a big guy. Eventually I cut it down which may seem like I caved to terrorists, but I didn't live there. My tenant did. She would have to deal with it and she and her NYC attitude seemed to enjoy it but who wants to come to a home where a battle could flair up anytime? Plus everyone hated the tree anyway because of the leaves and it was tall enough to damage the house if a hurricane knocked it over. I got rid of the tree and the problems vanished.

I've been in my house 20 years. It's a very nice street and the majority of my neighbors are nice people. But I live next door to a drug user and drug dealer. He's lived there about 10 years. His family owns the house and they put him in there pretty much because they don't want to deal with HIM. Everyone on the street hates the situation and the crap he does. We've had SWAT teams here twice and he has been jailed twice. When he's home the traffic to his house picks up so we have weird high strung out people coming and going 24/7 via walking, skateboards, scooters, motorcycles, and cars/trucks. I finally put up fences around my front yard because I got tired of people walking across my yard and some have even driven their cars/trucks across my front lawn. He and his associates make everyone on the street miserable pretty much. But I'm not moving. I'm retired. My house is paid for. And I'm not budging. The fence has helped a lot. I have security cameras around the perimeter of my house. The point of my story is sometimes you have a horrible neighbor and yeah you can move, but it is expensive to move. So on my street none of my neighbors want to move, so we just keep a watch on the situation and file police reports if we see illegal activity going on. We are now aware that if he does go to jail, they won't keep him long. He was out in 9 months the first time and he just got out of jail the 2nd time after 3 months. Oh and I forgot to mention we had 2 drive-by shootings in 24 hours last July and a friend of HIS was shot in the stomach. He brought frigging guns to our street. Everyone on the street heaved a big groan when we heard he was back home from jail. At least our street is on the sheriff's radar, but it appears that HE has more rights than tax paying homeowners do.

When he finally stepped in and pushed her away she ran home and accused him of touching her. Turns out she did with other men in the neighborhood too. Listen, where I’m from, your door would be busted in if you play around with your neighbors like this. I’ve since moved out & moved on but I walk like I still live there & people don’t even attempt to play with me like that. Find your backbone, girl! That’s all that’s needed here. They’re all bark. You bite. You can’t be nice all the time. I wouldn’t call the cops, I’d walk over & tell them they can play around & find out.

This is why I live in the semi country side with a 1.50 acre lot. All my brothers did the same thing building their homes on 4 plus acres or more. Our moto is I do not want to hear or see my neighbors. Modern subdivisions are very bad with their postage size house lots thanks to the greedy developers. Apartments are an absolute nightmare. Have been there so when we moved and bought our second home we knew we didn’t want to get into another modern subdivision with tiny lots and HOAs

This is just one of many big problems realtors do not want home buyers to know. The audio from these videos really should be played on morning radio for people to listen to while they are on their way to work.

When looking for a house, have your bucket list of questions ready. Very very specifically, ask the realtor to find out about the neighbors. This can be done in a polite businesslike way, since she potentially can be bringing many people to see this house. Ask her to watch the responder’s body language as they answer. Ask if there are any late night parties. You have a right to ask before putting out big money and time to move into the house.

Been there done that. Sell the house. If you bought 7 years ago you will have some cash for down payment or to hold onto until you can find your next home. You will start to associate your home with negative feelings if you do not.

Screaming and hostility can be grounds for battery. Get restraining orders and if they violate them, they can go to jail. If you have police reports, you can get a judge to sign off on a restraining order. If the people in the other property are bad at you, what makes you think they won't be bad to another person who buys the house from you. Trust me, anybody buying the home is going to ask neighbors about the property and other issues in the neighborhood.

OMG! My husband and I have been having issues with our neighbors too! We have lived in our house for almost a year. I don’t know if this is lucky or not, but the neighbors are renters - whereas we are homeowners - and I have CONSTANTLY report complaints about the current tenants to the rental company. Most of the time the issues have been resolved when reported to the rental company and the renters are not confrontational and won’t speak or wave to us. But this past week someone moved in with the current tenant. That individual has been having a lot of company over and has been using fowl language loudly - specifically the “F” bomb and the “N” word! Makes me feel totally uncomfortable! 😡

Great job by Jade getting to the actual numbers and what options they have. Typically John and George just go the complete wrong direction whilst trying to emulate Ramsey. Kind of have to question the value of pushing a 15 year fixed though when you could get more flexibility doing a 30 year fixed with additional payments towards principal.
