Hi and welcome to Season 2!
In this episode. we take out new Vista Cruiser on a shakedown run. This is Vinnie's first hitch up since we brought him home. Join us for a tour!

We’re Frank and Janet and this is Frank and Janet’s Adventures. Travelling when we can in our 2021 Gulfstream Vista Cruise we call “Vinnie” and our 2019 Nissan Frontier we call “Frannie”.
Not all our adventures are epic. In fact, most are life in general type outings. We like to hike, bike, and kayak.
We hope you’ll find some entertaining moments (there’s bound to be a few!) and even some educational things you might find interesting. Mines is going back for an interior wall repair on the 22 nd! I previously had a Flagstaff 25 rbse and it literally was falling apart.

The trailer is lovely. But I miss the days of having the goucho at the front that pulled out into the bed so you had more room during the day. It seems like there is so much wasted space with the full time bedrooms now. But I like how your table is at the front so you can look out.

Have to admit, we like not having to make the bed up every night and put it away like in the gaucho days. And the dinette in the back gives us great views. Doing some more research, they are putting the big rear tube bumper for the stinky slinky on the Vintage versions of this camper. Have not found a color scheme that the wife both like. Cheers

@@frankandjanetsadventures Hey Frank, I remember that you mentioned you have a drone. Have you posted any footage of your 'flights'? Is there a particular episode where you might feature it?

@@QuiltingintheFastLane I shot some footage in Jasper but that episode won't be out til November. It's definitely a process and takes lots of practice so I've only done a few flights I thought were decent enough for a video. Also, there's a ton of restrictions on where you can fly. And, depending on the size of the drone...you also need a drone pilot license. My droneis small enough I don't need the license but I do need the practice!😁

Hi Leslie, and thanks for watching! We got the shoe holder that goes along the foot of the bed at Camping World. Frank found the small one on the end of the dinette at a local store. The CW one is good quality canvas and will hold 2 shoes per pocket. Very handy! Enjoy your new trailer and safe travels!👋🇨🇦

Wow! Where are you located? We had to travel 6 hours to a dealer that had what we wanted so that's not unusual. The industry, as a whole, is way behind in production. Also, join the Vintage and Vista Cruiser Facebook group. Often there are units listed there as well as a wealth of other information. Keep looking! You'll find one.👍

@@frankandjanetsadventures Frank , think we found 1 in Delaware. It’s a ‘22 23TWS Vista Cruiser with a King bed or Twin beds. It also has tandom wheels and also slide out couch. Not what we were looking for but we’re going drive and see tomorrow. Is new, we would be first owners. They are asking $34,924.00. Do you feel that’s a fair price. First time purchasing a RV, not sure how far to bargain with them.

@@mikedison504 Hi, Mike. Unfortunately, we are west coast Canada so have no idea what units would go for out your way. One thing I will say though, is to ensure your tow vehicle will handle the weight of the trailer. That's very important. Good luck on your search!

Hi Gisele and thanks for watching! I'll answer both your questions here. With regard to the wheel bearings, can't help you there as we always take our unit in for servicing. We just don't have the room in our yard. Second, not sure what you mean about locking up the trailer. It sits in our driveway, covered, with a padlock on the ball release. That's it. We don't live in an area where we are concerned about theft. We're pretty fortunate in that respect. Hope that answers your questions. Safe travels! 👋🇨🇦

Where are the outlets in the kitchen for a coffee maker?

Hi and thanks for watching! There are a couple of outlets. One is located above the sink on the the underside of the upper cabinet. The other is located under the table, on the dinette seat. While usable, we weren't a fan of either location for our coffee pot so we added a plug on the back wall just above the table top. You can see that modification in our pros and cons video. Frank, did you buy direct from factory or through a rv dealer.. l like yours but would like to modify to the twin beds in front. Would appreciate any help. My wife and I are around your age and your wife sold mine on Vinnie

Thanks, Mike. We bought from a local RV dealer. The 19 foot also comes in a floorplan already with twin beds, so no modifications needed. That model is the 19TWD. Glad we were able to help you make a decision. You won't be disappointed!! Thanks again for watching.🙂

Hi, Peter and thanks for watching. We did consider the twin model and likely would've bought it but there weren't any in our area. As it was, we had to drive 7 hours to get Vinnie. Other than the twins, both models are identical. Safe travels!👋🇨🇦

A very helpful video, really helpful to know it tows well! Now that you've had it for a few months, how are you finding the size of the kitchen? My wife loves counter space and that's the one thing that seems to be missing with this model. Thanks!

Hi Annunzi and thanks for watching! As we've always had smaller units we've never really minded the lack of counter space. That said, the sink does have a large cover which gives you more counter when not using the sink. The other thing is the table is very large and in close proximity so we typically utilize the table a lot when prepping and cooking. Hope that helps. It really is a great trailer! Safe travels. 👋🇨🇦

@Annunzi I don't know the measurements off hand but, yes, in a pinch 2 adults would fit. How comfortably would depend on the size of the adults.😊

So you didn't like the CSK that adds a slide to increase room, and put the toilet as far away from the bed as possible, you would rather have the toilet right next to your bed odd choice

Hi, and thanks for watching. We didn't want a unit with a slide as that would've meant upgrading the tow vehicle due to the extra weight. The toilet is gonna be in close proximity to the bed in any small unit. It's got a door and this floor plan works for us. 👋🇨🇦
