Thank you, yes, that's the oldest inn in America, Longfellow's Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA! I'm a Boston born Yankee New Englander whose forebears came here on my maternal side in 1648 from the UK and Scotland in 1721 landing in Portsmouth, NH. I've stayed there as well and had a cocktail , recipe was from 1649...lethal! They had to be back then because there was no central heating or cars with heat in those days and going everywhere on horseback during the raging blizzards the only place they could stop and fuel up and eat were at the historic taverns and pubs which still exist in New England like the Green Dragon pub in Boston since the 1700s! Historian and best selling author David McCullough who wrote the book "1776" said it took Jefferson two weeks to ride from New England to Virginia! I also spent summers at my late grandmother's house built in 1776 on the Cape, deep roots here! Glad you're carrying on the traditions of regional cooking etc. Cheers~ ♥💙🍺🍺🥮🍰🥞

When displaying your plaid blankets, you asked if anybody liked plaid. Yes, we do! To be specific, Boyd tartan plaid. It's my husband's, matriarchal side of the family, tartan. It's the tartan plaid of my husband's kilt. He's a piper. Loved the Wayside Inn. Thanks for the tour!

I was thinking, how cute would a tiny Christmas tree with battery operated twinkle lights look on that entry table for the holiday. How much fun are you and Linda, both 2 of my favorite people. You spoke about Acorns falling, yes same in my area also saw two black squirrels today, and I thought that is very odd because they were a distance from each other. I can also remember eating French Fries and hamburgers with mayo, cause on the way to the cape in the summer we would visit cousins in Dedham and Quincy, Mass. and that is how they served them! In Ontario, Canada, fries are eaten with ketchup or Malt Vinegar and hamburgers are eaten with mustard, bar-b-que sauce and green pickle relish.

Thank you for this video. You can’t imagine what this did for me today. I live in Mississippi and have for most of my life but grew up in Pennsylvania. While in college I worked as a server in a very old inn. It was the Chadds Ford Inn located right next to the Brandywine Battlefield. General Lafayette recovered from a wound there. I really think my love for history and art really took hold at this time. The Wyeth’s paintings hung on the walls and they visited quite often. Your beautiful video really took me back. one year in the mid Seventies Jamie painted some fantastic huge pumpkins out on the grounds to celebrate Halloween. They were wonderful! There were Barn Shops behind the Inn where people could buy wonderful handcrafted jewelry and all sorts of beautiful boutique type items. I met Andrew Wyeth a few times while working there and he was a very kind man. I usually visit the area every fall but am unable to this year. I could almost smell a fire in the old fireplace while enjoying your video.Thank you from my heart. Btw, I subscribed to your channel today.

Hello. Your new wallpaper in your entryway is Beautiful! I have 10 yards of material that matches your old paper. It's just sitting here waiting for me to make drapes (may never happen 😅). I live about 15 miles from the Amana colonies. My family is from there. It started in 1855 in Iowa after coming from Germany and a brief stay in NY. They were a religious communal colony. The name Amana is from Solomon 4:8 "to remain true". The depression (1932) caused the communal part of the group to break up. The Colonies are on the National Historical Trust and a museum ,few restaurants and shops are there now. I have 5 of the same color that you have and 2 large chests full of other colors. I have several from around the US. It's really nice to see you have one from Troy, me too. Yeah, you can say I have an addiction to plaid and old blankets 😂. Gorgeous Wayside Inn. Your home and garden are beautiful as always. Have a great week.

Your travel videos are my favorite. Also love the new black painted furniture in your entry. The find by the road fits there perfectly. BTW, mayo has a lot more calories than ketchup because of the fat content. So if your watching your weight as so many of us do, think mayo has something like 90 to 100 calories in just a tablespoon- yowsa!
