First off, I just received my new 2024 Evo CRPlus solo--my first H & S airbrush--and I just freakin' love it! I'll more than likely get a new Infinity when they're released, a .15 mm solo. In the past I mostly used Iwatas, now they're retired and I only use Olympos Microns, been airbrushing for 45+ years, on all kinds surfaces/objects, only water-based paints. My new Evo is a real game changer w/ all the new features, the simple yet rock-solid construction--everything's so easy to work with...and it only cost me $167 for such a high quality airbrush! One thing I've noticed about your videos with demos featuring the new 2024 Ultra and Evolution airbrushes is that they seem to only show them being used to paint gaming figures and nothing else. How about a demo showing something different, like a leather jacket being painted--I've almost never seen any videos of airbrushing on leather.

I would love to see how this airbrush handles things like skin. Can you get the detail to highlight the bone structure on faces on 100mm sculpts?

50/50 mix for primer might just be the answer to my priming problems! I’ve been using less thinner than that and my airbrush just keeps clogging. I’d about decided to give up on Vallejo primer ever again, this gives me hope!

Honestly, I find the Vallejo primer works really well with a 50/50 thin. Don't use TOO much air pressure either - 25psi or so works great. I don't find that primer problematic at all. Hope that helps!

Hey buddy! Yes, certainly - the Solo comes with the small 2ml cup (similar shape to the one that you probably already know, but the inside shape has been redefined for easier cleaning), and the 2in1 comes with both the 2ml and the 5ml. Of course, the airbrush can also be accessorised with the Microcup, or even be used with no cup at all :-)

Thinking about going in and buying either evo or the other one. Never used airbrush before though. What else do i need? Which compressor or whatever its called should i buy with the airbrush? Anything else i should get? Thanks for any advice!

I’d start out with any of our airbrushes (Ultra is designed FOR this stage but any can be used); either of the compressors which we list on the site depending on budget; any of our airbrush stands; a spare needle or two; a Sparmax spray out pot (available most places). Hope that helps! W

Will the „old“ Evo and Infinity still be supported with spare parts? As much as I love the new Airbrushes I would like to be sure my „old“ Evos and Infinities are still usable. Any delivery time on the Squidmar Ultra 2024 and Squidmar Evo 2024? :)

Did you know that we still offer spare parts for the Rotring airbrushes from the 1980s? And then HANSA airbrushes from the 1990s? Don't worry, we won't ever abandon our long time customers. Personally, I always love it when I hear from someone who has been using one of our airbrushes for decades, and still has it going strong. We'll always make sure you've got the parts you need to support the older models :-) With regard to delivery times, we anticipate that shipping of the Squidmar ULTRA will complete in November, and the EVOLUTION will take place in December. If the shipping times for the EVOLUTION start to drift into the new year, we will of course notify this via the published shipping times on the site.

Thank you for the question. We don’t recommend it with the old fPc valve as it does not flow as much air and the adjustment range is lower. We optimised it for the new airbrushes. Use new part number 712325. They have just been released! W

Hi, I received my Evolution CRplus 2024 today, and started test spraying. At the beginning it worked very fine, but to my dismay, after 10mins, the trigger resp. the needle would not return fully forward when I released the trigger: The needle seemed "half stuck" within the airbrush. I took the airbrush apart (following your earlier tutorials, but I have plenty of experience taking my Iwatas apart) and cleaned it. When I tried to insert the needle, it needed an amount of force which to me seemed quite excessive. After some more fruitless cleaning I lube'd the needle, which allowed me to insert the needle with significant less force. It also allowed the needle spring to push back the needle into the front closed position by itself again. As I am new to H&S airbrushes: Is this normal ? Do they need lubricating before the first use ?

Paint was Ammo by MIG acrylics, 50:50 thinned, using the 0.28 needle kit.

I have run into more problems with the needle being stuck or really hard to move. I have contacted H&S about possible repairs, as I cannot figure out how to fix this on my own. It feels like the whole needle guidance is slightly out of line.

YES I'm happy to say that you are missing something! I'll update the page to make this clearer - so thanks for the question. The Squidmar airbrushes, as per our first release with him last time, is offered in the 2in1 version only. So you're getting the 5ml cup as well, and of course an extra head - the 0,45mm... so to be clear, the Squidmar ones are supplied with 0.28mm and 0.45mm heads, and 2ml and 5ml cups. When you compare these prices like for like to the regular EVOLUTION 2in1, you'll see that the price increases for the premium engraving and the Black Limited Edition finish are very modest. Actually €15 for the regular one, and €35 for the Black Chrome and all that extra gold on the Limited one. Hope that helps clear it up!

You want to prime all your miniatures before putting paint on them. It helps the paint stick to the miniature, so you don’t end up having minis with flakes of paint coming off over time.

We love our history here, and the work that we do on our new airbrushes is truly that we stand on the shoulders of the giants who designed the previous models (thank you Jens Matthiessen). And so we wanted to preserve the names, and the roles, and just show that it is new by talking about the first full year of release.
