I'm jealous how they are in a position to do all these experiments with drippers. For myself I am the only specialty coffee enthusiast in my family/friend group. Wish the best of luck to you.

Thank Brian! I lover this dripper! I've been using this for a few weeks now. I haven't messed with the different screens and I rarely pay attention to grind size. The only thing that I touch is the valve. I wasn't even going to buy the dripper, but I was on the Sworksdesign website and it was in stock. I am so glad that I bought one. It's an amazing dripper! My only complaint has been I wish the markings were a little clear. They're hard to see at times. Now if we can get one in conical form! :)
@BrianQuan5 ай бұрын
Yeah the markings on the recent one are a little clearer but I've just been getting a feel for how much to open up now that I don't even look at the markings that much. I'm usually going closed to full open, and sometimes almost even unscrewing the top to make sure i'm getting the fastest flow/to speed things up even more.

Looks like a great dripper. Seeing how it works I would probably prefer this design over the plethora of drippers I own. You can also save your coffee the way you did with any dripper out there. Just remove it from your cup and set it on something else, then add a pinch of water to your brew.

Just tried the Brian recipe after getting the dripper in the mail today. I just did a pretty coarse grind, and water temp at 197 deg F for a slightly darker tasting decaf roast from Onyx. Pretty enjoyable cup compared to what I've been doing recently otherwise. I look forward to receiving the negotiator to make the recipe work more ideally!
@GabrielGGabGattringer5 ай бұрын
Very interesting. Works similar to Orea V4 but is made in higher build quality it seems, These screens look high quality at least.

Put me down for the negotiator! lol the Orea one doesn’t work as well. I’d love to see additional content on the extra screens, etc.
@BrianQuan5 ай бұрын
Gotta wait for Kimoi to release it into the world somewhere lol. Maybe we'll check out the screens on a future stream since we can side by side them more
@guakamalu5 ай бұрын
Does the plastic in the dripper contain BPAs? was very sad when I found out both the April brewer and Orea brewers are NOT BPA free..
@ojngasdovnwdsifnweij5 ай бұрын
grabbed one during the last restock; where can we get that negotiator? Been using an orea one and isnt quite right. Glad you posted this ive been stumblin and bumblin through my process and getting pretty decent results. I was actually using the screen that is all open with three metal beams, should have considered the capillary action! good tip will try it out. I also like to control all flow with the valve at the bottom.
@BrianQuan5 ай бұрын
Gotta see when Kimoi wants to release it to the world. Follow his IG for updates on it! I find the larger surface area to have higher flowrate and that will theoretically give you the "most" control but I can totally see the other screens doing really well for more contact time/body etc.

Great video! Could you guys make a video about single dose drippers for something like 12-15g doses? I like to brew lower doses but I think most drippers and recipes are for 18g and more.
@BrianQuan5 ай бұрын
I actually uploaded a 6g Deep 27 vid if you wanna check that out. At a later date I might do more of the single cup drippers since that is what I mainly brew nowadays.

sworks filters! they're great and work well in a all of the smaller flat bottom drippers
@markgorden42105 ай бұрын
I have both the Sworksdesign Dripper and new Orea V4 and the Orea V4 is MUCH better!! The Orea V4 has 4 different flow control bases to choose from btw-4 different flow rates of your choice.
@ojngasdovnwdsifnweij5 ай бұрын
but you can't adjust flow rate during the pour. not like you can change the base mid brew.....
@BrianQuan5 ай бұрын
Yeah the V4 is great! I haven't had a chance to play with it much but the initial brews I've had are quite promising. I think the sworks is more flexible in maximizing potential body/immersion taste with the valve so you get significantly more control.
@lukesp57215 ай бұрын
They are both extremely different drippers. You can’t really say one is better than the other, it’s all personal preference or perhaps your mood one day vs another.
