Honduras or Guatemala! Though I'd brew these coffees in a longer ratio. The Honduras performs incredible 1:17-1:20

Has the meta on RPM evolved recently? I've been under the impression that lower rpms basically don't do anything but shift the mean particle size a bit.

I want to experiment with rpm on lighter roasts as I’ve heard the lower the speed the more clarity you get but less sweetness.

Tried this morning and got an amazing cup, never tasted anything like this before. The Ethiopia Light Roast wasn’t as light as Nordic but still quite light. It had a very floral taste right upfront with noticeable acidity, sweetness, and clarity. I used my Flair Pro 2 with a 15g:60ml ratio. My grinder, the DF64 Gen 2 with SSP Labsweet V2 burrs, was set to 2.0, slightly too coarse, so I’ll adjust to 1.7 next time. Huge thanks to Brian Quan for sharing this!

try the East Fork mug - they feel great in hand, look great and enhance the coffee/tea drinking experience. But they come with a price that is hard to justify, for a casual coffee drinker. This is something you either get or not, in terms of justifying the price. At that, however, they make great gifts, because they free the recipient from justifying the cost. I hope you make the plunge on buying one and would love to see your reaction to using it.

UFO claims hario stole their air channel idea for a new dripper (after hario reached out to them to collaborate) this is made complicated by the fact that the ct62 dripper exists that also has air channels and I believe is older than ufo

Neat cup and Modcup coffee packaging looks on point👌🏼. As for the UFO dripper creator, I think he's seems a bit out of touch with reality, especially since he's accusing Hario of copying his design. UFO channels have the same look and curvature as the V60 ribs so, what came first? Channels and wider angles have existed on various brewers long before the UFO. If Hario decides to invert its own ribs, "thats copying?" But the UFO isn't, copying V60 ribs, or the channel's, or the wider angle of drippers in existence? There's even a dripper on the market already called UFO 🙈. I'm all about protecting intellectual property but this is just ridiculous.

I 100% agree with you here. I've pointed out sth similar to the UFO creator through their instagram and I got blocked immediately. They deserve absolutely no respect at all.

That’s hilarious! I also commented “politely” on instagram that they were copying left and right…. Guess what. Nasty text from them and then blocked, WOW😂. What a way to do business and make a name for them selves 🤔.
@DriveWork-qz5gj
@DriveWork-qz5gj 4 күн бұрын
@@Chaoswizard-0 I've also heard of some other guys being blocked for the same reasons. They're really spectacularly pathetic especially when they also officially claim the dripper was designed to work with Hario switch base. They're quite literally freeloading on both Hario's legacy and their generosity for not making a big deal out of their ridiculous acts.
@Wheresthesoul
@Wheresthesoul 4 күн бұрын
@@DriveWork-qz5gjThe truth is obviously inconvenient, and it must have hit a nerve that challenges the ways things have been done by them. One word comes to mind “opportunist“. At the end of the day for most those brands it’s about coffee, the stoke and love for the community but I guess there will always unfortunately be those opportunist and profiteers in it for the short term gain. Constraints can either spark true innovation or they can lead to copycat design wrapped in a thin layer of pseudoscience. No wonder they said “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”. Mad props to Hario, Origami, CT62 and a handful of others for original design and doing business in a good way.

I just contacted Breville since my smart Pro grinder is jamming irregularly. They stated I could have it sent in for diagnosis and repair (free shipping and diagnoses and repairs are discussed before it is done). or two I get 25% off another grinder on their website. I bought the grinder in 2020 and have taken the proper care and maintenance. What do you recommend I do?

Are you sure it is a pre-production unit?? Even pre-production units can have a lot of tolerance problems. That's what preprodu6units are all about - improving tolerances. You went a bit harsh on this one. However, you are not decreasing their prospects for success - they are already successful enough. Also, I find the styling just a little too vulgar - it's really trying too hard to be a sculpture. It's way overdue signed. And the loop stand is just a bit clumsy beginner-mistake industrial design.

Cool stuff, actually interested in pioneering this kind of data driven approach in my country. Not sure how successful it would be because specialty coffee is still such a small market, but also coming from an ecommerce background, this sounds superrr realistic to me compared to opening up a coffee shop. The washed lot 41 is great. I've brewed two cups so far. Lots of Tangerine and Peach. Very bright. In terms of structure and mouthfeel, it reminds me of the Carmen washed gesha from Hydrangea. Whereas the Carmen skewed more strawberry, this Sophia skews more citric/ bright stonefruit.
