I have lived in Florida for 16 years, store stuff in my garage in plastic totes and have never had a problem. I make sure the plastic totes have snap lids such as rubber made and they keep everything sealed tight against moisture and bugs

I was Sooooo excited to see your new vlog! Thanks for the house tour! The kids got so lucky with their bedrooms! I can picture George kicking back on the couch reading his books on his favorite subjects, he’s so smart! And James lucked right out with the projector in her room and she has the perfect wall for it! Violet is going to love her room and she has a great closet so she can see all of her clothes and her beautiful dresses to choose from to wear each day. I have to admit that I can hardly wait for your new house to be done and your yard to be ready for designing and you to be able to start planting all of your trees and flowers! You did such a beautiful garden in your old yard so I am imagining this yard is going to be even better if possible! ❤

Get a dehumidifier off Amazon and plastic bins for your stuff in garage. I live in Oklahoma and have to run them in summer as the Humidity humidity is at 100% most of the summer. They work great. I have 2 on for the main house and one in garage. I need on more for my storage shed. Make sure you get one big enough for the space. They work great.

As far as mold goes, make sure that you don't store any organic material on the cement floor or up against any outer facing walls, and you should be good. This goes for the whole house. Keep beds/couches at least 4-6 inches off outer facing walls so there is air flow, and this will prevent condesation leading to mold growth. Keep all boxes off the garage floor or at least have the lowest storage be in plastic totes with boxes on top. Use dehumidifiers if your AC doesn't do that.

Unless you have a spare interior room that is climate controlled, rent a storage unit that is inside and climate controlled. Humidity is not your friend when living in a tropical climate. I'm in Houston, Texas and we know a thing or two about humidity. Interior storage helps control not only the temps but also the critters that love to move into your boxes. As far as the boxes in the garage, I would recommend putting g the items in an air tight storage bin. The humidity will cause mildew and the cardboard boxes will attract mice and rats. Or you can get a dehumidifier to run in the garage. But don’t store cardboard boxes full or empty in the garage.

Watch for little green frogs, Palmento Bugs, keep everything food wise in the refrigerator because of those teeny sugar bugs. I lived in Windermere so these are some suggestions. Storage bins for sure instead of cardboard boxes. Boxes might draw cockroaches. Have you experienced Love Bugs yet? I think its around September and March

Check out discovery cove in Orlando. It’s an all inclusive resort. All food and drinks and alcoholic drinks are included in your pass. You can swim with dolphins and sting rays there plus your resort pass gets you a free pass to aquatica and to Disney world. Plus If you call discovery cove you can get parking passes to each place for dirt cheap. It was honestly the most amazing experience. Our kids really like lego land too. If you subscribe to lego lands free magazine they give you free admission passes to lego land for the kids. Some also have them on the back of boxes.

Welcome to Florida. I live in North Florida and have been here thirty years and absolutely love it. When you build your new house make sure that you move out of city limits and get at least an acre or more of land. That way your taxes are much cheaper and you are in an area that you can have chickens and plant lots of fruit trees. Moving North of Orlando is better. I have lived in lots of areas of Florida. I have lots of knowledge to help you. Never move to a place with an HOA.

I recommend to switch out your cardboard boxes for plastic containers. The tight seal on the container will prevent your items from being damaged and getting infested with insects . Also don’t put cardboard boxes in the attic. Florida native
