If you got a small creek you can put a cheap ram pump to get water to the building for free. Call it number two. :)

You could put up a sturdy permiter fence then use portable fences with solar chargers to run goats or pigs to help clear the over grown areas while also raising some meat. You could set up an outdoor kitchen with a wood burning stove/oven and a place to butcher deer and wild hogs and other wild game

Congratulations!!! Your tears of happiness is contagious - I’m so happy for your family. I like the ring of “Armstead Acres” for the name - or, someway combine “Arms” with the name of the family whose homestead was previously there, to honor them. I know from experience how hard it is to give up family land. I own my grandparents home place and have to pay a couple of thousand every year and it brings in no money for me; yet, I can’t bring myself to sell.

I would love to see the land maintenance. Cleaning up the garbage, mowing, trimming field edges(low hanging branches) so you can mow the edges better, maybe a trail build around the boundary if landscape and trees allow it. Need a well with hydrant or even a hand pump. I agree on animals. you don't want them. you don't want more daily chores(like at home), you want more fun projects.

Congratulations…I’m so happy for you. My Dad and Mom were Oklahoman’s born and raised there. Back in 1939, they came to New York State. My Dad had purchased family land way back in the 70’s. When he passed in late 90’s, myself, sisters and brother sold the land. Right now I would give anything to have that land. Both sets of Grandparents where in the Oklahoma Land run. You had me crying for if I wasn’t a Senior citizen….. I would move to Oklahoma.

Trails End!!! Would love to be camping out there. Back when I was a lot younger a good friend had a piece of property and I would go out there and camp for weeks at a time while recovering after a very serious illness. It helped me to be alone and after nine months off I was able to go back to work. I am an Alcoholic that has been in remission since August 24, 1972. Being out there I was able to get my mind and body in shape to go on. I am eighty one now and have never had another taste of alcohol since then. I was in ICU for twenty seven days recovering from .4 % alcohol in my blood. I pray every morning and evening thanking the Lord for being at my side.
