My dad had one of these, 4 door version. In Europe they came with a 2 L rated at about 150hp. The piston rings needed changing at about 600k. The oil was not changed sooner than 15k kms. Last time I saw it, I did donuts with it in the snow and it had about 1.1-1.2 milion kilometers. Not long after that it was sent to some work site in the mountains and I lost track of it 😂. It was by far the most reliable car anyone in my family ever owned.

2 separate very cool ways this build could go. 1: Drop it, coilovers, sick wheels, track / street style setup. 2: Jack it up, off road wheels and tyres. Make it a competitor to the Jimmny

Its only auto but i was attracted to the 170,000kms on the clock, awd, one owner vehicle with original sale reciept plus full service history to now. Immaculate inside and out, it even has those plastic labels that go around the brake fluid resivoir etc that says use genuine honda fluids etc. i have my first child on the way and i wanted to get a suv to have mad adventures in, my wife drives a 2017 kluger awd that has quite a bit of sleeper power at the wheels so i figure i might try and mod the crv to gain a similar power level to hers. Ive always been a sports car kinda guy so suvs are a different ballgame but im honestly impressed. Mine cost me $9k its a late 2005 build and has the k24 engine.

If you want to save some money on one of these cars if you ever come back again in the future try going a couple model years older next time. The 2.0L engine variants had this weird ECU brain rot issue where it'd cause a decrease in power/fuel economy as well as poor shifting in the autos. Can't stress this enough you have to catch them early before it starts causing actual mechanical issues needing to be addressed. I bought one destined for the scrap heap, sent the ECU off to a specialist to fix the issue and then the car was running just as it should again once I got it back and then I flipped the car for a couple grand in profit. Easy way to tell them apart from the outside is that the rear turn signals are still amber on those and the steering wheel still has that flat plain 90s look on the inside despite not being a 1st gen RAV4
