@@LiteBrite Tracy, you hit on my thought exactly! I'm watching this on June 20th (Father's Day), 2021 so it's been posted for a bit more than a year. First scene that came up was Brittany going nuts over a couple of pieces of steel rod to hold up the window shroud. I'm thinking, "She's bouncing off the walls like the cutest sugared up 5 year old you ever saw... and I just saw her have a birthday a couple of weeks ago. She's no 5 year old but sure would give one a run for her money!! 😁🤣 Kevin is about the luckiest guy walking... and I think he knows it!! 😁🤣🤣

Cool video guys! On your tent there should be one tiny rubber o-ring on every steel rod (that holds out your window covers). Those little o-rings should be positioned near the bottom, about 2 inches from where the rod is inserted into the tent bottom. These rings cause rain to stop running down and to "drip-off" before it has a chance to run into the base of the tent. It's real easy to lose them when handling the rods and putting them back into the storage bag. Good news is they are cheap and easy to find if replacements are needed. Enjoy your new tent!!! I just got a TuffStuff Ranger RTT with annex room, for my PowerWagon and I LOVE it!

Nice! We got a couple of those ROAM cases for our Tacoma overland build. Using a canopy with the tent ontop we installed a bedslide that allows us to just pull what's in the bed out to the open.

I really like how the term "Overlanding" has evolved, particularly in the U.S.. It basically is now used interchangeably with camping. No one "camps" anymore. Everyone "overlands". No one goes on a "road trip" anymore where you stop at cool locations and camp, or visit a park, or do whatever cool thing, it is now...OVERLANDING! But, that rigs pretty cool. Overland on!

Does anybody know why AAL made the bed rack shorter than I feel it needs to be? Example at 18:19 in video, great side shot, but it is already only a 5.5 foot bed, but then the rack is like 4.5 feet in the middle of that...there is just so much room between the cab and the rack and then also the rack and the tailgate? I do see that the sliders seem to poke out on the cab side and are closer to the window than the rest of the rack, but then at the same time you can't see the front of the tent, it seems very rear justified, so why do the sliders even need to stick out like that/why wouldn't you just make the rack the same length as the sliders? Anyway...I love the concept but this little thing has always tweaked my ocd a little, lol.

Its nice but I hope you're putting a fridge/freezer in somewhere? You need a place to store food. You can easily get by without on of those fancy kitchwhen setups with a portable grill and stove but a fridge is a must IMO. Coolers just don't cut it when you can get very efficeint DC fridges and a solar setup.

I was wondering why you did not mount the tent on the top of the rack, instead of putting it inside the rack on a slider? It seems you would have more room in the bed if the tent were up on top so you could put a fridge on a slider, and maybe a power bank of some type and double stack more boxes or some type of drawer system and a cooking stove with propane tank? Just curious why you put the tent underneath instead of on top?
@LiteBrite
@LiteBrite 4 жыл бұрын
The entire purpose of the slider is for a tent. The slider itself pivots once fully extended, allowing you to level a tent no matter the terrain you’re on (so you don’t have to waste time and energy finding flat ground or leveling your vehicle to set up camp). This also leaves the top of the rack available for bicycles, kayaks, canoes, skis, snowboards, etc etc depending on what other hobbies you have or enjoy while camping and traveling. We did an overview of the rack system on our SEMA video where it was debuted
