Guys, you may use a small/slim knife to open the canned goods that are not easy open as a sub for an actual can opener. Start by sticking the tip part of the knife towards the certain edge of a can. As soon as you've made a hole, tear up the cover slowly (like cutting out a circle).

Smart move to safe some money by changing place to this tiny house. It looks quite nice with the small garden. I hope you will be able to buy some nice fresh vegetable and some fish in the market. Go to the market in the early morning hours when chance is best to get fresh seafood. Do the owners of the house provide some charcoal for the grill? Btw. I suggest as a sign of appreciation we all should be watching the full content of the ads as the revenues of the commercials are much lower than usual. Stay safe friends and good luck.

I have been in the Philippines since 2009. If you are going to stay, I am paying 10k/mo rent for 100sm. I use two aircons and have two (ref & chest freezer). We pay about 10k/mo electric. We are a family of four. My wife and I, her mom and our daughter, 17yo. We run a Sari Sari store and have a Pisonet Business (kids gaming) from home. For those wanting info on expenses, we make it on about $1600/month US. But having the store and other business helps greatly! I noticed the hotel you left had a transformer in the back. THAT Means the voltage may be low in your area. They boosted it so the low voltage wont damage equipment running off of it. Low line (LL) voltage heats the power supplies withing the equipment and causes the filter capacitors to dry out faster. You get 1-2 yrs of life as opposed to 5-10 yrs with nominal line voltage. Be careful where you rent. So many places run at low line voltage continually! I learned the hard way. I stayed 2 yrs under low line voltage! ruined a lot of equipment! Now I look for a transformer on my street! The voltage s/b 220Vac +/- 10% as a rule of thumb. THAT means LL is 198Vac. But I only had 189Vac! Good luck. I LOVE this country and my family here! Wonderful people, I LOVE the weather and would not think of living in another country!

yes that's kinda expensive even just for temporary...we have 4 apartments that we are renting out near SBMA and our tenants only pays 6000 pesos a month only ($200) so our tenants pays $4 per day but this couple pays $20...that's a lot of money ...their landlord is very lucky to have them

It's no surprise hospitals hook patients up to saline solutions when experiencing trauma. Lock down is very taxing on some levels. It's good to be proactive in keeping your system calm so you can think clear and slip into deep states when sleeping.

That house is great for your temporary stay. A bachelor type airbnbs like that usually is at least Php2000/night. People need to understand that they are in El Nido. One of our country's top tourist spots. Prices there esp. For accommodations are usually higher than what we expect for a community like that. They could've stayed in a dorm/apartment for a cheaper rent but you cant expect apartments there would look like what we have in the cities. They host tourists who usually stay for max of 1 week.

Looks like a smart move. You will be saving money and still be living in a beautiful, authentic neighborhood. Although the rooster makes a lot of noise, you will get used to it and whenever you hear a rooster in the future - it will remind you of your experience on the island during the lock-down. You might want to consider getting a smoke alarm at a hardware store (if there is not one already in the house) or asking if the hotel can sell you one. Enjoy the island.
