We have just installed a new 35kg Ultra onto our Oceanis 50, no modifications required. 15 minutes to install and we love it.

Hey guys nice video. Yea for sure you needed an anchor chain/ anchor upgrade. Once I saw the new anchor and chain I was anchored into my seat watching the video lol. So East coast water is really that merky that it's hard to see through. Hopefully not pollution and just silk and ocean vegetation. Congrats guys looking forward to next video

Guys did you have a problem with chain piling before ? And how is it now with the ss ?

Yes we did! We would have to get the boat hook and knock it over as we lifted…..It would also sometimes jam in the windlass dropping back down, the links wouldn’t shift in line correctly. The cromox stainless is so smooth we don’t have that problem anymore, it’s glides up and down like butter and lays itself out so nicely. We will be doing a follow up video soon with all the specs and findings so stay tuned….It’s definitely worth the upgrade!

BTW, did you mean 316L chain? Where did you purchase from? Germany?

Yes, its Cromox from Ketten Waelder in Germany. After much research it's really the only chain out there capable for marine anchor chains. It's 318L, enhanced strength and much more resistant to pitting and corrosion than 316L, and will have a much longer lifespan than 316L.

We just got back form the Vets, he is 100% back to normal now!!! Negative test, which is great because we thought it might have been a little bit too early to retest him, but he's negative!!! Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!

We love a nice patina but not when it’s on the one thing holding your home in place 😆😆😆😆
