Our new Whirlpool Front Loading Washer and Dryer set

We just got our new washer and dryer set up and was going to do a little show and tell. The old set was on the fritz. However, it did get repurposed by the town I live in. They were driving by in a city van and I had them on the curb. So they asked for it, so they can use it in their shop to wash rags and such around the shop. Anyways, thanks for watching. That is so true with leaving the door open to prevent mold, Lola has front loader and it can get smelly from the rubber getting moldy. Love the pedestal/storage too. I have to be on a step stool to unload ours,since it's a top loader or I'll break a rib hahaha

I have the same set, but my washer leaks water from the top detergent compartment. Everything looks clean! It seems that too much water pressure is causing the problem. However, if I reduce the amount of water going in, the washer's low water code comes on.

First of all, thanks for stopping by. I am not sure what the water pressure is at my hookup. It's just standard pressure I would assume? I would contact Whirlpool. It may be a leaking o-ring or seal some where? Or they aren't seated properly and the high pressure causes a leak? Good luck Rod.

@@OkieMomLife No, we don't use that feature. Didn't work on the 1st machine we had and I don't think my wife ever used it again on this new one we got. But when you put your own detergent in, you know how much is being used. We like more suds.

check to see if the drain holes in the tub (washer) are jagged. Our whirlpool snagged up all our clothes and now shakes violently and squeaks after they reaplced the tub. I just posted a video of the issues. I hope you got some good ones as I got a lemon.

I purchased these about a month ago and already have issues. Washer is super loud and makes knocking sound when the spin cycle starts. Repair people have been out to the house 3 times and awaiting to replace some part. I'm still trying to get use to the dryer functions. My clothes continue to be damp when the cycle has finished. I've tried multiple settings and nothing. Can anyone give me advise on what I need to do? I've had the first model of the duets and I never ever had an issue for 15 years and the washer finally died on us. I miss them terribly.

Hello Laura, I had a slight problem with knocking, but I re-leveled the base and it went away. Yes, when it's on the spinning cycle, it's a bit loud to start but once it gets humming, it's hardly noticeable while in another room.

We do have exactly the same as you do except the bottoms storage, and we have problems when it starts spin, it is very loud and it is moving and vibration. Do you think the bottoms storage will help that stop? Thank you

Firstly, thanks for visiting. Secondly, the base is just a convenience to raise the height. I would try to make sure the units are level. This should help with the vibration and thus may bethe noise if it was out of balance. It shouldn't be excessively loud, but if it is, I would contact the store you got it from and have them look, if it's still under warranty. It took 3 tries for us to get a good washer. Do you make sure to use the same fabric. After our duets crapped out the gentleman said world Paul is the best no rugs with rubber backs and everything towels with towels sheets with sheets etc.

Top Loaders look very appealing with all the room they have, but I watched a video of one operating and that frisbee thing in the bottom of the tub was wearing on the clothes against it and not washing the clothes on top at all. You'll never be able to do comforters, jackets, shoes, or pillows just to mention some things. I love Front Loaders for doing anything I want to wash.

Troy, this is very helpful as I have this set on order right now. Is there any chance you would be able to measure the height of the top of the washer with the 15 inch pedestal for me? I have cabinets, and the fit will come down to a small fraction of an inch, and I'm not sure if I should get them. I know this could be tricky, so don't bother if it is any trouble for you. Hello Gary, sorry for the late reply. I got busy and forgot. I'm measuring 38" tall. That's without the leveling glides. 53.5" from the floor to the top of the washer and pedestal with the leveling glides on the pedestal turned out for leveling the unit. The glides are removed from the washer to attach the machine to the pedestal with 3/8" fasteners

Hello Bianca. Yes, there's a way to set a cycle signal. I've never tried it though. It says "hold for 3 seconds, for cycle signal" on the sticker by the buttons.

Hello, sorry to hear that. I would check the dryer vent. Especially where it goes into the wall from your dryer and potentially the exit on the outside of the house. There may be a blockage. The other obvious thing to check to make sure your temperature is set. If that doesn't work, call the store you bought it from.

Hello Rachel. I would check the dryer vent where it hooks up to the dryer as well as the vent to outside. Mine was clogged up pretty good to outside and after I cleaned it out, our clothes are nice and dry. Good luck and thanks for dropping by.

Thanks for watching. Did you check the dryer exhaust vent? At the dryer hook up and the duct to outside? My vent to the outside was pretty clogged up. Once I cleaned it, the clothes are warm and dry. Another tip, try not put a whole bunch of cloth at once. Or did you get a lemon? Call the place you bought it.

No, front loaders don't use as much water. They clean clothes just fine. High efficiency (HE) washer. Google HE washer. They use 65-80% less water 💧.

It's a nice washer. It's quiet until the spinning cycle. Then it vibrates and is louder. But you can't hear it very much in another room.

HI Troy, I just got my same exact unit that your washer is. #WFW5620HW. My question to you is, when you turn on the machine and select the load etc do you see any water in the machine. All I see is the water squirting in at the top of the door inside of course and on the clothes. Then the machine seems to sense the weight of the clothes and then it kicks in to begin washing. However,...................a no time have I ever seen any water on the bottom and I was surprised that the water never shows in the window. Is this normal? I see the machine spraying water every few minutes and then it goes around and so on. I am just curious if no water is suppose to show inside? I even did a chant with a Whirlpool rep and it seems that it is normal. But she kept saying water in the bottom. NO way no water in the bottom.

Yes, there is water in the bottom, but it's minimal. The water would leak out if it was full of water. The whole point of these "energy efficient" machines it to use a little water as necessary. It was frustrating for us also at first. But they get the clothes clean and you can tell the clothes are wet when they come out. Thanks for watching and sorry for the delayed reply.

Hi Pat. Yeah, the window is pretty clear. It fogs up when you wash with hot water. This is actually our 3rd try and we finally got one the doesn't vibrate and no noises. We're very happy now.

hmm , i was skeptical at first also because of the issues that GE had in the past. when I talked to Whirlpool, they said it has a double pump system. one pump , puts in the detergent and another to recirculate during the washer . she said the recirculation pump actually helps clean the lines out and prevents gunkiness. as far as cleaning he said it helps make sure the detergent is thoroughly mixed well also. what do you think of the quick cycles. i think its good because it prevents smells from excess detergent

@@stephensailer9495 Well after the 3rd set I finally got a keeper set. I did re-level the washer and dryer after the installers left. Haven't had a problem since. No smell or anything and the dryer works well too. I leave it on a few extra minutes and the clothes come out bone dry. Just leave the washer door open and run an empty load with bleach every couple of 4 months. Good luck, I'm sure you'll like them.

Hello, sorry you've had such a problem with your machine. a front loader doesn't have agitation. They use rotation similar to a dryer. They also use less water. I'll admit, it took some getting used to. To help with the noise, make sure it's proper leveled. I don't have a problem with too much noise. Perhaps you got a lemon? Did you contact the store you bought it from? It took 3 tries to get the one we have now. I'll admit, this is probably my last front loader as well. The dryer works like a champ for us.
