My baby girl also had colic for the first 2-3 months of her life. What helped tremendously was cutting dairy from my diet ENTIRELY, nighttime gripe water with chamomile for any time of the day, and I would give her tummy a massage with some warm olive oil right before the evening witching hour. Also, look into having her see an osteopath and you should google baby acupressure points for gas and tummy pain - believe it or not, finding those pressure points actually worked at helping her pass gas and even poo!

I know there are many inventions that make moms life easier especially when they are so tired, but depending on machines to hold and make sounds for the baby will make you lose the chance of spending more time with her very close in your lap and creating precious memories while cuddling her and singing to her yourself, because these early days of her life that you will dearly miss. Lots of love.

I hear a chiropractic adjustment for babies can ease colic. Colic can sometimes have to do with pressure in the spine causing gastro issues. When my sister was a baby she had really bad colic for 6 months, and every night my mom had to hold her back under the shower faucet. The massage from the water on her back was the only way she would go to sleep. There’s a lot of babies on KZbin getting adjustments for colic.

Pour 1.5 glasses of water in a saucepan, add: - 1 teaspoon fennel seeds - 1 large black cardamom and allow to boil for a short while. Turn off the flame and add 7 mint leaves (previously washed) and cover the saucepan immediately to allow the mint leaves to seep for a minute or two. Strain. 2 to 3 drops can be administered to baby, the rest mom should drink as it will have a great effect on the baby as well via mothers milk.

About her crying, it is totally fine because her digestive system is still trying to adapt and function normally. One thing that will help is spacing up the times where you feed her and if in any case you're giving her water DO NOT. Your milk is more than enough. Water ia too harsh on babies and so many new parents do the mistake so just wanted to let you know in case☺

Fun fact, I am the first daughter of my parents, and they had moved to a whole different continent before having me, so they were totally alone, this meant that there was no one other than one friend my mum had made to see what my mum was doing with me irl, to advise her and help her with me. Also worth mentioning my mum was quite young when she had me. Having said that, for the 1st month, my mum just fed me sugar with water and apparently I was always hungry so she thought this was the best way to give me sth to eat. Idky she did this, whether she didn't know the concept of breast feeding or what, but seeing you comment reminded me of this haha

They gave him water and sugar for the first teo days maybe. Once he was able to have my mother's milk the doctors strictly forbade us from giving him anything else. He rarely got sick and until now he has the strongest immune system in our family. Obviously when he got a few months old he started having what Normal babies . About why your mother gave you water and sugar maybe she didn't have milk that's why🤣 or maybe she was scared

If you yourself are eating a lot of dairy and drinking cow's milk, try cutting back - she could be reacting to the lactose. My children had that issue and it helped not to drink milk, cheese, ice cream, cottage cheese etc.

I generally don't comment on any videos, but this one is just for the sake of your baby. My baby is 4 months old now and I too faced colic with her. There are plenty of at home remedies. 1. If you can get your hands on betel leaf (it's an Indian thing so you might find it at some Indian stores). So, take the betel leaf and apply some coconut oil on the upper side of the leaf (i.e. the darker side of the leaf). Warm it over the stove on a direct flame and once it's slightly soft, let it cool and put it over your baby's tummy. Let it stay for 15mins. Do this twice a day even when she does not have a colic episode. 2. Take some ajwain seeds (carom seeds). Dry roast it over a pan and collect them in a muslin or cotton cloth and apply it on your baby's tummy while it's still slightly warm. This gives relief too. 3. Heat carom seeds in water and you should consume it. Don't drink too much, just a single glass a day. Your baby won't get gassy through your breastmilk. 4. You can consume fennel seeds. This will also get relief to your baby. 5. Lots of tummy time. 6. Lastly, start baby wearing. That's a very good way of avoiding colic, get you to bond with your baby better, and increase your breastmilk supply too.

I had both my children in an hour from start to finish. It’s not good when it’s that fast - I went into a mild. medical shock and my son’s heart rate accelerated frighteningly. When I had my daughter, after weeks in hospital because they were afraid she would just appear with no warning whatsoever, she had an APGA (?) score of just 4. She was absolutely fine later, and is now married with children of her own.

Going completely dairy free including dairy in processed foods really should help colic. Keeping a food diary over a period will reveal what the common triggers are for baby's discomfort. As well as this, infacol drops which we use in the UK are absolutely amazing too.

You were a lucky one. I had a 12 hours active labour with 2 to 1 minutes contractions. As It was a public hospital I wasn't allowed to have anyone with me, no pain killers or anesthesia, I tore up terrible and they stitched me up without medication, bled for 2 months and half nonstop and after 40 days I ended up at the ER with gallbladder problems as results of the hormones softening my organs. Time passed,I had to have 2 reconstruction surgeries after 2 years or the labour. It was traumatic and painful I didn't heal completely, things didn't go well with my uterus after that having abortions after abortion. As I was alone with my baby at home (my husband didn't have a Visa yet to get in the country) I suffer just suffer watching over my child who just wanted breastmilk and I wasn't producing enough she was always hungry wouldn't accept a bottle then when she finally did she started to have intestinal problems basically she couldn't poo for 8 days straight she had so much pain for about 8 more months like that. I am hopeful of my next pregnancy that It would be way better and I will try my best to afford a private clinic for a csection. I almost died bleeding out with my first reconstructive surgery of my vagina so I don't want to go through natural labour anymore

Hi Leena, my 9 month old had bad colic, what helped us was a cranial osteopath and definitely probiotics! (One with a good live culture count not just any old one from amazon) we use the biocare one here in the UK. I took an adult version as I’m breastfeeding and gave him the baby version mixed with a bit of of my breast milk. Definitely saw a change after the probiotics. Ultimately what the doctors say is true though, a lot of colic you just have to ride out as they will grow out of it when they’re older inshallah

Hey Leena, congrats! Colic is no joke, my daughter had it too and the prior suggestions were reallh great, the cutting out dairy was the real change maker in my experience. On the days that we needed some help , we used something called cocyntal its a premeasured dose of colic water, but it helped immensely. I will tell you that as she grew, it didnt last as long, maybe 15 minutes of relief. That was after a couple of months though, and we found eve then it helped because we would use rhat and then do the bicycle legs movement to help get some of the gas out and it helped so much rather than if we just tried to do the pedaling alone. Hope this helps!

huda issa That is exactly what I was coming here to say. We tried so many things and someone suggested trying the bicycle move and that helped so much. It didn’t work every single time, but most of the time it did. My first baby was colicky and so this became routine for us. Feed, burp, bicycle. So then with my next 3 kids, we did that almost from day 1 and none of the other kids ever had any issues. Now, I’m not saying it was the bicycle move, but we used to joke about how we cured colic. The only other thing I did was to stop eating broccoli. That caused gas in all 4 of my kids and I haven’t been able to eat it since I had my first baby (he is 24 now).

As a last grade medical student i saw mums in my Pediatric rotation before this crazy pandemic also worried about there child having colic and I search about it in my books it’s mostly caused by crying which makes babies swallowing air then became gassy and cry and it will become a viscous cycle, so just take it easy and don’t be worried mostly it disappears in the 3ed month of life ,make for here a schedule that prevent her from crying (her sleep, feeding..etc ) , and may Allan bless her

What I would like to see: body changes. Ofc you can't show pics, and this is a deeply personal issue, but I would love to hear what you are comfortable sharing in regards to changes, body image, what to expect, etc. In a world where women's looks are increasingly scrutinized even hijabi women can't escape the anxiety that pregnancy brings in regards to our bodies. Also, advice question: do you think girls should really try to NOT have a baby using planning methods in their first years of marriage, or do you think it does not matter?

Fun fact, I am the first daughter of my parents, and they had moved to a whole different continent before having me, so they were totally alone, this meant that there was no one other than one friend my mum had made to see what my mum was doing with me irl, to advise her and help her with me. Also worth mentioning my mum was quite young when she had me. Having said that, for the 1st month, my mum just fed me sugar with water and apparently I was always hungry so she thought this was the best way to give me sth to eat. Idky she did this, whether she didn't know the concept of breast feeding or what, but here I am now, short as a gnome and hate sweet things. That one month really affected me even after 18 years TT

Hey Leena congratulations to you both. We would highly recommend investing a baby swing. We found it really helped our baby girl up to 12 weeks. All the best.

Cutting out dairy out of my diet really helped my baby. I was off of dairy for the first 3 months of her life. Also avoid any gassy foods such as cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts in your diet. If it bloats you, it will bloat the baby too.

You should do an online shopping video/vlog and show your thought process while picking out clothes and what you look for in clothes. 💜
