I got my brother the same christmas sweater that Luke is wearing. I was hoping I could fit into the XL of the kids but I couldn't. Had to get the adult one which doesn't have the nice cowl neck, and I'm pretty sure it's a women's sweater, but whatever, we match. And also got the lottle sweater dress version for our baby sister. Love it

In Germany we call the sourdough starter Hermann. In the US it is also known as Amish friendship bread. The starter is passed from person to person like a chain letter.

Welcome to the world of sourdough 😁 I started couple years ago and looooove it! My starter is called Cordelia (any Anne of green gables fans?) And I made it from scratch. The starter does not necessarily have to become exponential. I've been using the method where you have a really small amount without much discard (25gr starter, 50 gr water, 50 gr flour (rye) and then you use up around 100 gr per recipe and have 25 left for feeding again etc.) Right now my starter is in the freezer sadly as it is too much histamine right now 😭 can't wait to be fully healed from long covid and enjoy sourdough bread again. One recipe that you guys will love is probably discard pancakes, they are so good!

I also dove into the world of sourdough during the pandemic, and struggled with having to toss starter! Sourdough crackers and pancakes are delicious! You should also look into dog treats! I'm sure your pup will love them, and they'll make great gifts in cellophane bags!

Highly recommend you read Joshua Weissman's sourdough guide. It was super helpful along with his videos. The high moisture content takes some getting used to but it's really fun once you get the hang of it!
