Love following you and daddy. Not to fret, 50+ years ago I had a 4 pound daughter. Tiny is an understatement, but you will do fine with Quinn. Babies are actually very resilient. My 4 pound baby turned out to be the heathier of all 4 children. Yes, it’s scary but remember you are Quinn’s mommy and your instincts are the best for her. Good luck. Keep us updated. It brings back such good memories. She is absolutely adorable. 💕

So happy for you and your family. I had my baby at 34weeks, she weighed 5lbs at birth and stayed in NICU for 3 days. She came home at 4lbs but we were so excited to have her with us it didn't matter. It's been challenging at times but I wouldn't change a thing. She is now 9months old energetic and 21lbs. Good luck your love for her will surpass any challenges!

My twin boys were ten weeks early and weighed 4 lbs when they came home four weeks later. When she comes home it's not necessary to tiptoe because the NICU has noise. I could sweep under their beds and they not wake up. Look into fine motor exercises to do with her because of her being early. My boys are 22 now. Keep a food log as well. Your family is adordable. Hi new subscriber here! I had my son May 30, 2019. I was 34 weeks and 3 days. He was in the NICU for 19 days. We live an hour and a half away from the NICU so that was hard we also had a kindergartener at the time now she is in 1st grade. I also went to a regular Dr appt and had no symptoms and my blood pressure was 173/110. I didnt have preeclampsia. I was sent to our towns hospital where they had to life flight me to a bigger hospital with a NICU. I had my son 6.days later. I missed my baby shower by one day. Now my son is over 20 lbs and not even a year old. Crazy how similar our stories were thou! Your family is beautiful! God bless!

So excited for you! My twins were born 32 wks and 6 days and spent 5 weeks in the NICU. My girl weighed 3 lbs 6 oz and my boy weighed 4 lbs 5 oz. They just turned 17 last month but I remember the NICU like it was yesterday. I love watching your videos♥️

Small cuticle cutters are the best for trimming their nails. I always did it while my babies were sleeping in my arms. You can really see what your cutting, never snipped my girls even once. :)

Wow memories of my life not that long ago! congrats mama it’s a scary experience nothing can ever prepare you for your a strong woman you learn how quickly just how brave and strong you have to be ! Praying for you and your family btw she is absolutely beautiful this video makes my heart melt feels like I just got to bring my little 3 lb babe home who was once 2lbs ! The best feeling in the world to hear those words you may now take the little precious bundle of joy home!

Something I learned about the pump parts is that you can refrigerate them in a ziplock bag after you use them to reduce how often you have to wash the parts. I was pumping for my twins and pumped every 2 hours! So exciting she will be homesoon though! ❤❤!

Quinn is doing so well! Love the carpet you chose for her room and can't wait to her room when done! ACE is so clever guarding the house and wanting to eat Quinns cloth. I had to laugh! Stay cozy and healthy at home and enjoy your lil one! She is very alert!!

Registered Dietitian here - the thing you said about fruit is 100% not true. Lol I had to comment to let you know since you said you weren't sure! I have enjoyed following along with Quinn's NICU journey. Registered Dietitians are the ones that calculate tube feeds, determine the correct tube feed formula, etc. I remember being in my NICU rotation during clinicals and it was so stressful, but a really good learning experience. Thinking about you all and very excited that Quinn is home with you now :)

Our NICU nurse filled me in on refrigerating pump parts! Just toss them in a ziploc and refrigerate between pumpings! You only have to wash and sterilize once per day. This will seriously make such a huge difference when baby comes home!!

Haven't got through the whole video yet so you may have done it but my friend set up the babies pram and put the blanket/burp cloth in the pram/stroller so the dog got used to both the smell and baby stuff around.

When my son was in the NICU the doctor would come around 10AM daily to talk with the nurse and give the requirements on milk intake and whatever else was going on. We tried to get there before then so we could talk to the doctor. When they told us he was going home the next day, I tried to not get my hopes up but every nurse kept saying he is going home tomorrow. The next morning on your way to the hospital the doctor called saying the bilirubin levels had gone back up so he wouldn’t be going home that day. That was hard.

stephaniemariegavin this actually isn’t considered sanity anymore. It can still lead to bacteria. I did the same thing when I was exclusively pumping and found out months in that the “fridge hack” isn’t a thing anymore!
