Hi, unfortunately we won't be able to answer about this winter, because we didn't use it at all since we didn't visit our homestead often. But in autumn days, we tried it for couple of days and we didnt see any particular increase in our energy bills so it's not very energey demanding I presume. 😊

What stops the heat from the strip of underfloor heating from going down into the ground? Should you not have put down some sort of refector material to reflect the heart upwards away from the ground? How effective have you found this underfloor heating?

Hi! To be honest we haven't actually used it in the winter time and probably it will be used only occasionally but, agreed since there is only concrete underneath the heat will travel both upwards and downwards.
