After 20 years in the UK I have decided to do my naturalisation application. What worries me a bit is that the first 5 years I was married to a UK citizen. I have lived here since and my daughter now 17 was born here but I have been unemployed as dedicated to motherhood and after my divorced have to rely on benefits but decided I wanted my daughter to know her father so I stayed… would this alone be a refusal? I have no problem with providing referees and the other bits but would the not working label be a deal breaker?
