Rhett, not everyone is as good as talking as you. I love to listen and will listen to someone for hours but as soon as someone asks me to lead a conversation it goes downhill fast, some people are introverts and some are extroverts.

But the thing is that Rhett IS an introvert. He said so himself. Personally, I don't think it would matter if you're an introvert or an extrovert. What matters is the bond between you and that one other person. And if you can't hold a true conversation with them the first few dates or encounters, maybe there is no point in pursuing the relationship. I'm not saying to completely give up on it, I'm just saying there *might* not be a point in pursuing it.

***** Rhett is absolutely not a introvert, he is as much as a extrovert as you can get. Introvert- a shy, reticent, and typically self-centered person. Extrovert - an outgoing, overtly expressive person. Also from my observations, introverts tend to be listeners and extroverts tend to be talkers. Rhett being a extrovert, he values talking and feels that it is necessary in a relationship whereas more introverted people tend to be conservative about talking. Its all about preference, you cant call it right or wrong. I wouldn't mind listening to a girl all day and some might like it and some might not.

What I got out of introvert is that they like being alone more than hanging out. Its not about being outgoing vs shy. Yes in some cases it would have it but in the most simple definition its about needing to be alone because you spend so much energy listening&talking to someone you need to just take a breather. I am one myself and i completely understand where Rhett is coming from. I am not the best communicator but i can be outgoing at times, but at the end of the day, i would much rather take alone time more than having a sleepover.

At 5:53 of this video, Rhett in fact calls himself an introvert. And just like your other replies say, there isn't a set definition of an introvert or extrovert. Just because what he does for a living seems like something an extrovert would do, doesn't mean he's extroverted. You said introverts enjoy listening while extroverts enjoy talking. Maybe so, but not necessarily. There is a personality test based on C. Jung and I. Briggs-Myers' type theory which indicates introversion and extroversion. I remember it specifically stating that introverts prefer a one-on-one conversation or conversation with a small group of people. Introverts aren't necessarily shy. They just prefer small groups or intimate conversation. This information along with what Rhett said about personally thinking deep conversation with someone in the first few stages of their relationship is what he prefers proves that he is in fact an introvert. Again, there is *no* set definition. You and I have our preferences along with everyone else.

I'm curious about something though: how do people in other countries like France go about learning English? There are so many countries where the people speak their native language and a decent amount of English too. Is it something that's taught in school or what? Well I'm a French Canadian so I got taught in school but I also learned alot playing video games and watching movies and tv shows in english. Also I did a student exchange in British Columbia for a month and a half so I guess it helped me a lot too. I also try to keep contact with some online friends that speak english. You know Rhett and Link, the more that I study the love languages, the more I begin to think that everyone has a love language that they are better at with receiving, and one that they are better with giving. So Rhett may like getting gifts, but he doesn't have to like giving gifts, but instead giving the physical touch makes him feel like he is loving his wife. (at least as an example.)

Watching this in 2019 oomf but I love these videos, they're so personable and relatable! I consider myself an introvert, but I'll exert a lot of energy to talk and make conversation if I feel socially obligated to, like meeting a new person. My boyfriend is way more of an introvert than I am. When I first met him in person to go on a date (we've been dating for about a year and a half), he was pretty quiet, not really saying much. At first, I thought it a little uncomfortable, but I noticed that whenever I said anything, he'd respond in his own way, like making facial expressions, sometimes responding with words. Surprisingly, I thought it was endearing and really comforting. Between the two of us, I'm definitely the one that talks way more, but he is the only person who I can spend hours chatting with and not get socially drained. So I think you can totally click with someone who doesn't always have conversation after conversation with you.
