I made cement chalk. I poured statues for years for a garden company and never realized I had to use the pea gravel and sand when I did it at home. That is a perfect explanation the chalk description. Thank you! I could not figure out what I had done!

Thank you for re-sharing this information, especially the gravel overview. I've been showing my concrete tile making journey on my channel, and as you can see, I've been iterating through the different types of concrete mixtures. Thanks again for the info!

I'm looking forward to ordering some molds from your website to get started! I'm in the middle of moving to my new house, so it will be a little bit.

Yes we did at my garden company I worked with we had a mixer. 4 5 gallon buckets of pea gravel, 4 buckets of sand I bag of quickcrete and a big handful of fiber. If we made large statues we also would use rebar. My boss swore by the fiber. We still broke things at times because it's best to remove the mold when it's still a bit green. We or my boss would get real rushy. It's best to know the mold to know how green you can pull them. If they have a neck such as a crane we poured a lot or just a lot of weight period it's best to wait. Makes a lot of waste and mostly disappointment when I broke them.

Can I soak fabric in this and use it over plastic over a tent to create a structure? Maybe a layer with cloth and a second layer over that for stability?

There are methods using this technique but I’ve never done it so I can’t help much.

Would you use this same mix for making large planters? I was going to make a large planter and wire for strength, im just worried about weight.

can ordinary stone be used as a substitute for gravel?
@rubbermoldman8544
@rubbermoldman8544 Жыл бұрын
Yes, you just want to make sure it’s not too big for the size of the statue you will be pouring. But it will work in place of the gravel.

Pea stone works great. You can double your concrete batch adding pea stone. Stays just as wet when mixed. Cheaper also.

Hi, i have a question: Is cast stone the same thing as concrete? I mean, are they made from the same ingredients?
@rubbermoldman8544
@rubbermoldman8544 Жыл бұрын
Yes and no, cast stone isnt any 1 particular product or mix, it is a term I have sen used for pretty much any mixture that contains gravel or rock.
