Max has been the ONLY constant. 1 week, it's Merc at the front. The next, it's MCL , and then every once in a while (rarely these days, but there have been moments), Ferrari pokes their head up out of the weeds. But Max is there every single weekend.

Agree. Max has the gift to maximize his weekends. If the car is not fastest, he'll get the fastest spot he can get. And often more. The other teams have shown they don't always maximize their weekends. Max didn't maximize in Austria, but that is a very rare thing to see. And he's always been like that. It's how he won his first championship (Lewis didn't always maximize based on the car. Max did), and he's done it before he had a championship winning car... And when he had it, we all complained about the most boring season and winning all but 3 races that season....

Don't get how anyone measures anything in FP1/2. Teams sandbag. Teams test with different setups and tyres. It's not a good gauge for placing bets at all. Merc was doing glory runs earlier this year then they would qualify 5-7.

about the RB19 vs the RB20, many lap times the pole sitting RB19 would have qualified much further down the grid had it done so this year. So the RB20 is definitely faster considerably, but so has the rest of the grid. In fact, Max's pole lap at Barcelona, wouldn't have even gotten him into Q3 this year. It's not that RB are slower, it's just that people have caught up so much. In fact 23-24 year's jump was MUCH bigger than 22-23.

Red bull are quickest in the race pace, like +0.400 and Perez was the faster car, they showed it before the end of the second practice. It's only practice and we will see what will happen in the qualification and the race.

Crofty was right in saying that Checo was in the way though. Zhou was on a flying lap, he did NOT lose the car "going into" that turn, he was already at corner exit still going full speed when he saw Checo on the racing line right IN FRONT of him. Checo did not "arrive on the scene", he was IN THE WAY. It's obviously hard to say without telemetry, but my guess is Zhou slammed on the brakes when half of his car was still on the curb, which then unsettled the rear to cause a spin. Could the spin have been prevented if it was someone like Verstappen in the car? Maybe, but Checo is definitely to blame here.
