I understand that not everyone has to be educated in every field, so I hasten to explain. Europe is a continent, the European Union does not cover the entire continent. To the east, this continent reaches to the Caspian Sea and beyond a town in Russia called Vorkuta. I recommend typing in Google, turning on the map and then telling where Poland is located. Because it is located west of the center of the continent.

7:11 During the early XVIII century there was a very deadly diesease(cholera) in region near Grabarka... People gathered on the mountain and prayed for diesease to stop (as well as from souls of those who have died). Once dieases ended a monastery was build and place became a place for pilgimages. Some of pilgrims where carrying crosses- as a symbol of gratitue for fullfilment of their prayers. Some people say, that water from the spring that emerges from Grabarka has healing/diesese protecting prosperities... not sure about that, but it's definately a high quality water, one can drink strait from spring - tasted myself.

7:34 there's a region on Polish/Czech border that's made mostly of sandrock... (it's a leaftover from ancient sea that's probably been there in prehistoric times) These rocks where shaped by water and wind creating amazing nature-made sculptures, as well as system of rock labirynths known as 'Rock cities' or 'straying rocks'. These places are avaible for tourism (on both Polish and Czech side) and are quite easily acccesible to most of people :)

: wody termalne w Uniejowie, zamki w: Tumie, Pabianicach, Oporowie, Łęczycy, zalew nad Jeziorskiem, Wieluń-miasto gdzie spadły pierwsze bomby w czasie II wojny światowej. ZOO w Borysewie. Kilka niewielkich skansenów... Długo można wyliczać.

Central Europe - I`ll kinda explain how i understand it. In moment of conversion from communism (Eastern Europe) that wasn`t our idea, we needed a way how to break connection mentally with that eastern messy idea. So - we`re central! ... It`s not needed anymore, but its a fun way of being a typical Pole in my sense of humor. Amber on Earth is ~99% from the Baltic sea, and most of it flows out near Gdańsk. U can try bigos, but its 2/3 days of cooking. U`ll eat a lot durring the proces anyway ; ) Yes with glass (or cup) of wine! U need good sausage (kiełbasa), and 2 more different meats of your like to make a great one, kiełbasa differ from hot dog sausages in that - sausages contain good meat, while hot dogs contain meat waste and ground bones. And - u don`t wanna know. If you have that cucumbers from Sweden u can try making - tatar - it`s well-ground fresh raw beef with sour pickled cucumber, onion and egg yolk, salt, pepper, all raw. Delicious and weird enough. It composes well with chilled vodka. Make your own pickled cucumbers, cabbage or cottage cheese for pierogi! : ) We'll tell you how and it'll be most Polish then.

16:36 The Eurasian carp or European carp (Cyprinus carpio), widely known as the common carp, is a widespread freshwater fish of eutrophic waters in lakes and large rivers in Europe and Asia. The native wild populations are considered vulnerable to extinction by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), but the species has also been domesticated and introduced (see aquaculture) into environments worldwide, and is often considered a destructive invasive species, being included in the list of the world's 100 worst invasive species. It gives its name to the carp family, Cyprinidae.

4:02 Origins of the city name: Łódź (boat) come probably since the ancient times, when a small village (which evolved into a prosperous city) was settled in a valley reassembling a boat in it's shape... hence the name village got itself... what's most funny: no major river or sea is nearby... it's 100% landlocked city. There're also jokes about Łódź: " A man wakes up in a train and asks nearby passenger: - Where are we? - In Łódź. - That I know, because of all that (ship) rocking, but what's the name of the sea?" (i did my best to translate the spirit of the joke, no sure if it even sounds funny in English)

Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary (and sometimes Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Austria) are the countries that are commonly named Central European, everything east of Poland (so Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan + Caucasus countries - Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia, if you count them as European) are Eastern European There is even a political alliance called Visegrad Group that contains Poland, Hungary, Czechia and Slovakia and all 4 countries are cooperating between each other and are each others best friends politically speaking The pope channel Barbs mentioned isn't actually a pope channel, but a generally religious catholic channel that was started when we had a Polish pope, so maybe that's where the confusion comes from We don't celebrate name day that much, birthday is much more important, only older generations are still celebrating name days The politician on the photo with Kashubians is our current president Andrzej Duda, he is a president since 2015 and next year will be his last, because presidency is 10 years maximum in Poland

Probably 99% of people living in Poland, where Polish... On contrary... just before WW2, it's estimated only 68% of population where Polish, next groups being: 15% Ukrainians, 8,5% Jews, 3% Belarusians and people who didn't recognise themselves as part of any nation, but as people "who lived in their land for generations" and 2% of Germans... rest: other minorities, but smaller than 1% each...

I am a Pole living in Poland and I am not afraid to cal my country an eastern european one. Central Europe was a concept created by german scientists in second half of XIX century. Our people love to use it now to make themselves, I don't know, feel better and to different us from the rest of our eastern neighbours. The wall you saw a news about was in the border with Belarus but it is an old news now. It's quickly become an obsolete one. It was initially a part of our propaganda war with Belarus. Also the friendship with Hungary is becoming more and more a dead concept. We are arguing about everything now and average hungarians really stop bothering about us. For today our best friend in terms of political relations and backing people would be lithuanians but only to some extend of course.

Division od Europe into eastern and western is generally a pretty new thing, mostly related to the Iron Curtain times. Before that, Europe was described based on cultural or religious connections and in that sense Poland had much more in common with the so-called West than with the former Rus territories or the Bysantine Empire. Poland was latin, catholic and had close relations with France, Italy, Germany etc. You may call it whatever you want, but "central" is actually much more correct term, both in terms of culture as well as geography.
