when Sujy tries to say something in Polish, it sounds really good. I'm not writing this because I want to be nice, it's really like that

Szabla Polska to nie miecz. To precyzyjna broń przez wielu oceniana wyżej niż japoński katana

Miecz jest prosty, natomiast szabla zagięta.

The Poles were fighting everywhere at that time. Kościuszko (although he did not approve of fighting alongside Napoleon) himself fought for the US and became a hero of the American War of Independence. He was also a friend of Washington. You should look him up; he was a really significant figure. Millions of Poles at that time emigrated to other countries in search of a better life, as in occupied Poland there were severe persecutions and extreme poverty (depending on the partition). That's why there are so many Poles in the US now-the vast majority of them are descendants of people who moved there in the 19th century. "Mazurek Dąbrowskiego" actually became a hit song throughout Europe at that time. Poland's independence was a hot topic-a huge country attacked from all sides, disappearing practically overnight, became a great banner slogan for all revolutionary movements on the continent. It was sung by many groups during the Springtime of Nations in various countries, translated into different languages, or there were songs inspired by its melody and lyrics. Many countries also supported our military and refugees (funnily enough, we had significant support from some German lands like Saxony, which welcomed our refugees, organized Polish administration, etc. They supported the Poles against their oppressors-other "German" states-Prussia and Austria. People say that it was "Germany" that partitioned Poland, but actually, Germany didn't even exist as a unified country yet, and it was all much more nuanced than that). For example, there is a German song from that time called "Noch ist Polen nicht verloren" (Poland is not yet lost), loosely reminiscent of the melody, expressing the support of people from these territories for Poland's fight for freedom. Another example is the so-called "Pan-Slavic" anthem written in 1948 (later becoming a national anthem of Yugoslavia) called "Hey Slavs," which uses the melody of "Mazurek Dąbrowskiego."

Pozdrawiam jeszcze raz .

We have a state because we were ready to fight for it and die for it. I'm talking about previous generations. According to research, today's young Poles would not like to fight for Poland or die for it.

Noone wants to fight in wars or die. It doesn't matter that when it's needed they won't go. You don't need millions of people to go fight, you only need some, and there's plenty of people who are willing to, and even volunteer to go to the army.

@@leno_o17 Before the war, there was an ethos of patriotism. There was a completely different mentality. Young, intelligent people from intelligentsia families fought in Warsaw. My parents were born before the war and had a completely different idea of Poland. The national emancipation of peasants who previously did not consider themselves Poles changed a lot. The Polishness of people coming from peasant culture is shallow and conditional.
