kind of hard to pick one since we have a ton of awesome metal bands.If I have to mention some of them that I like it would be Hammerfall, Dream evil, Orbit culture, Candlemass, Sabaton and Amon Amarth.

A respectable third place for Opeth, but personally i think they are easily number 1. Unique, interesting and a good mix of hard and more meloic metal.

The metal scene presents music and an atmosphere just like a producer makes horror movies. Most metalheads and bands are very friendly people. I myself like this music, and it is in many ways a outlet for agression and a little escape from normal life. :-)

Really nice to see Bathory get the praise they deserve. Also nice to see they got two songs and whoever made the video picked Destroyer of worlds. Great reaction! You've got to check out Amaranthe!🤘😉 I got introduced to them through Sabaton. Amaranthe were opening band for Sabaton on the Great Tour in Europe 2019/2020. I became a fan after been seeing them live.

You should check out Ghost more. This was not a good clip by them. From my hometown Linköping. My girlfriend even went to school with one of the original members.

Such a bad video to learn about swedish metal bands, it litterly gave us nothing! It gave a bad first impression of the bands and artists. The video even cut off right before most of them could sing not to mention the order of the list makes no sense. Some of the most successful rock/metal bands are very low on that list. The video did skip to add some other good bands out there! Also not all bands on this list is pure metal either. This is no introduction of the bands I can understand the confustion. Europe is hardrock and glam metal, Ghost is not a typical metal band but still labeled to be hardrock/metal tho their songs mostly vary in different subgenres of rock and now they would lean into pop/rock. Sabaton is power metal, Aramanthe is also power metal. Backyard Babies is rock tho they were not on this video. If interested in metal bands with viking/pegan themes but in swedish language then I would recommend Grimner with the song "Eldhjärta" and Månegarm with the song "En snara av guld".

Gotta agree this was not a good video to choose all live performances too harder to catch the bands styles am i stupid or did this list not even have dark tranquility? But it happens they cant possibly know this stuff beforehand

Agree, this was the worst compilation ive ever seen and it must have been a joke. Too do a list you need too be objektive, bring the best parts of each song. The creator even took worst version of final countdown and much more songs and manage too destroy every song That was in this video

You watched "Shut your mouth" by Pain in the 50 best rock/metal song from Swe/Fin. Peter, or "Pain", is the front man of Hypocrisy. Maybe that is why you recognize the band.

So many bad clips of the bands, not a good representation of most of them in my opinion. Some favorite from this list (and of the list) is Amaranthe, Evergrey, Hammerfall, Ghost, Europe, Sabaton, Amon Amarth, Dead by April, Opeth, Majestica and Skitarg.

Yngwie is of course #1. One of the greatest, if not, the greatest guitar player of all time. Influenced basically all Swedish metal bands, or at least the guitarists, whether we like it or not. We're all disciples of hell (pun intended)

My favorite Swedish bands are not on the list Clawfinger, Arch Enemy, Pain (Peter Tägtgren from Hypocrisy and Lindemann), Electric Boys, the heavy version of Europe (not their commercial stuff), Talisman, John Norum and 220 Volt.

Sabaton, Majestica, Amaranthe and Raubtier are my favorites. But this list was horrible in how it was put together. The ranking is subjective I get that as I disagree with it for sure, but the quality of the clips were awful. If you choose to do this video by live shows then pick great clips that show the group in a good light instead of picking the first clip that pops up. I do like metal but some of subgenres I quite dislike, but overall they could have picked a studio recording of each band instead so the audio could be shown properly.

Yeah well Nightwish and Therion was fun the first time back in the days now it's just annoying with such music. Lots of bands have gone the same way to much layers and engineering and shit. Sometimes less is the best.

Symphonic metal tends to go it's own way and has it's own separate fanbase almost to other metal genres but that doesn't mean they're not massive and pioneering.

Yea, do this list is exclusively based on personal taste. No account for sales, popularity or impact on the scene. Bathory at no1 makes sense. Haveing Opeth, Messugha and Marduk in the top ten also makes sense. Please not that Im saying this from an objective standpoint, I dont listen to any of them. But leaving In Flames out of the top 10 is just pure nonsense. They were the biggest metal band on the planet at their peak. *_One of_* the biggest bands in any genre which is something not many, if any other, metal bands can ever boast about. Im not sure they should be out of the top5. Also, Soilwork at 29 is kinda ridiculous. Arch Enemy was maybe placed decently as in how many band should rank above them but when considering what particular bands *_were_* placed ahead, their placing makes no sense. They were absolutely massive, still are as far as I know. Hammerfall is a weird one. In Sweden many consider them as kinda cheezy and kinda childish, like what young teens listen to just when they get into metal. I dont think the vast majority of Swedes would think of Hammerfall if asked about legendary Swedish metalbands. BUT from what I understand, they were massively popular in many other nations so, personally their placement feels way to high for me but they might have a fair placing from a global view, I cant say for sure. This is such a weird list I ha e to wonder if whoever made this list put Bathory on top just to not p¡ss off the entire metal community.
