Polish cuisine also heavily enjoys other boiled grains - look up kasza (groats), it's a whole food category here, usually right next to rice on supermarket shelves. Regarding naleśniki, note that in our cuisine they aren't only served sweet - savory versions are also popular as a main course option.

Compote is cooked in water, it is not juice or other similar products. Kompot is fruit cooked in water.

Among Polish dishes, I really like soups. Although as a child my mother forced me to eat any soup, as I got older I discovered that many soups are simply delicious. In addition to the tomato soup presented here, I love soups such as: sorrel soup, mushroom soup, pea soup, bean soup, cucumber soup, cauliflower soup, krupnik soup, and another type of poultry soup. And right now for breakfast I'm cooking pyzy with meat and cream, which were mentioned in the film. Enjoy your meal.

Kompot need to be served with fruits. Without them its just a sweet fruit drink, but with them its a completly different level. You can even make it from rhubarb, you need to add alot of sugar, but its worth it.

If you ever make 'mizeria', the cucumber salad, please don't put any vinegar there, as suggested in the video. It kills all the freshness that dish offers. In some regions of Poland, the sugar is added to this salad, but it's a 'no' for me and my family 😅, though you can go for it if you like your salads sweet.

It always amused and surprised me when I watched people from the US eat Polish food. Everything on the plate is separate, potatoes, salad, meat, and they put it all on one fork and try to put such a mountain of food in their mouth. They struggle because it is difficult to fit everything on the fork and then in their mouth. Of course I understand that the idea is for the flavors to combine, but believe me, you will get exactly the same effect by putting each ingredient of the dish in your mouth separately. The benefit of this is that everything will fit on the fork, and in your mouth the flavor will mix exactly as you expect. Of course you do not swallow each product separately, but all the ingredients together only after you put them in your mouth.
@novy11984 ай бұрын
Same, i never get it, just put everything in one plate, you can combine it eitherway loll
@samoht.p4 ай бұрын
In Poland, this is how they eat. You serve the individual ingredients separately. In Poland, we don't mix the dish. Compote is not a Mexican punch. Compote is a natural drink. You cut the fruit and pour water over it and cook for 15-30 minutes. Compote is mainly characterized by the fact that it is poured with fruit.

I love potato pancakes🤤 they are very easy to make for someone who knows how to cook at least a little. It's difficult for me 😅 I only know that you have to grate the potatoes until they are quite smooth and then fry them in a large amount of oil. I don't remember what is added to it. I like to eat them simply with sugar. As for bigos, everyone has their own way, so in Poland we probably have several million recipes for bigos 😉 Each similar and different at the same time

Potato pancakes are very easy to make. Only raw, grated potatoes, flour and egg. My advice: it is good to add a little mammy groats. Then the pancakes are more crispy and do not absorb fat. I have the same association with this spoon. It is not for eating, only for stirring in the pot, because it does not scratch the bottom. Best regards!

I can send you material for a delicious Italian pizza dough. It takes about 1-2 days to make. : ) 15 min. of good kneading. hehe, I also love it very spicy, Asia taught me that, but it's also important for you because that's how you disinfect food. We have winters, so we traditionally store food in different ways. Jams, compote, bigos, sausage, pickled vegetables, even pierogi, you can eat the inside when the outside starts to spoil. Do these pankakes or "naleśniki", they are easy and fast.

I cant even imagine how you can make tomato soup without chicken broth. I'm always hearing from my father that "If you can make broth then you can make any soup." Bc most soups in poland are just chicken broth with one or two addition that completly change what it is and how it taste. Those German potato pancake are not german at all. They are Jewish and they are called Latka. They are made in different way bc for polish version you grate the potatoes into a paste. ANd for latka you grate them to create stripes. This means they have a completely different texture and taste different because the temperature spreads across them differently, so they fry differently. She cut gołąbki properly. Its a form of rolade. Cabbage isnt a container from which you scoup the filling. You cut it in "rings" and eat with cabbage. Also ive never seen gołąbki served with potato. Gołąbki is full dish. So she not only shoudnt eat it together. She shoulnt not have potato at all.
