This was a blessing family. As an individual who romantasized the country life, then experiencing a taste of it through travel work, i have to say, it can be discouraging. So i cant imagine the hardships of diving into it full time. Thank you for sharing, as this is a road my wife and i will be walking in the near future, and we will need this type of encouragement along the way 🙏🏾

11 years ago my husband and I took the leap of faith and moved from a city to the country. My husband retired and was able to do the work necessary to get a homestead started. 6 years ago he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and passed away 8 months later. I struggled with God, asking him why he took my husband from me after he had brought us to this place. I was alone, no friends or family nearby. I was told by a friend that I needed to “come home” and that is when I realized that I was home. I asked God that if He wanted me to stay here to please help me. Have I had bountiful harvests every year? No, no I have not, but there has always been enough. One particular time I was dealing with more than I thought I could handle and I realized that God did not carry me over the ocean to let me drown in a puddle. I keep reminding myself that it’s all puddles if God is on my side.

Thank you for sharing your testimony! You are right. Some bring the city mentality to the country and thus find country living challenging. Country living is not city living. I am grateful that I was born and raised in a rural part of the West Indies. That said, I have been living in the UK now for over 30 years. Without the right mindset country living will be challenging for some. The Lord has not yet blessed me with country living, but I ask Him to prepare me mentally because there will be challenges, frustrations, tears, etc . But the Lord is our strength and as you read, He did not take the children of Israel out of trials, rather, He helped them through it. He is doing the same for us! Be encouraged my brother and sister, Christ got you! Keeping you and your family in my prayers!

It takes true Biblical wisdom to find the delicate balance between God's Sovereignty and man's responsibility. The ability to recognize that invisible "Stand still and see..." God boundary line does require humility and standing faith. When we identify that line, we must be determined to stand our ground in trust and reliance. Thank you for sharing; may God make his face shine upon your family and be gracious to you.

Amen! God bless you guys for this video. I wanted to share what I’m learning about this verse Jeremiah 33:3 says, "Call to me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known”. In this text God is telling you that He not only will reveal thing that you don’t know about him but also about us! Who we think we are and who we really are! That’s very deep, I’m I’m learning it myself cause sometimes we think we are Christians but in reality we are far from it so that’s a good lesson for all of us.

I’m not sure about the country home being a 75 y.o. Widow with disabilities. But I can say listening to your testimony gave me much encouragement because I am having health challenges that is debilitating me more. However, hearing your faith in the country side with children and many hard trials but not losing your faith is so encouraging to me and I thank you. I commend you being young and finding such wisdom in and through God’s word. I’m sure your parents are proud of you and I commend them for raising you in a spiritual home. You’ve given me hope because we raised our kids that way and only one and a half of our five have any spiritual connection now. Please keep this old black lady and my family in your parents. My five children and grandchildren are my main reason to keep living hope they will return. God knows it’s hard trying to keep a home going when a widow. It’s almost like living in the country, especially now that I no longer drive having to depend on others when you’re so used to being independent. That’s me. Well it’s been nice chatting with you. We moved out of the city 13 years ago and ended up moving back after a little less than 2 years. Looking back on our move,we realize that we did not prepare adequately before we moved. We faced many hardships, finances, loneliness, culture shock even though we were still in the same country. There are sub cultures in the country that can be difficult to adjust to. There are allot of dynamics when moving and we need to take the time to ask the lord what to do and watch carefully for his directions without anxiety. Sometimes fear and anxiety can cause us to step in front of god. We can also procrastinate and be behind his leading. Take the time to pray read and most of all listen and pay attention to the master’s leading. I pray that the Good lord will bless each and everyone seeking to do his will.

I should add that the lord opened up another door for us in 2021 to leave the city again, which we did do. Things were much smoother and we believe that the lord was in this move. We spent 8 years in the city before returning to the country. God will make a way for you at the right time, don’t give up pray have faith and do not fear! He will work it all out for you at the right time. I remember telling one of my friends some of the regrets and failures that troubled me. She said to me “ God knew this would happen and he already has a plan B” That brought me such peace. I pray that those words will give you the peace also. Pray for us as we pray for you. Could Christians realize how many times the Lord has ordered their way, that the purposes of the enemy concerning them might not be accomplished, they would not stumble along complainingly. Their faith would be stayed on God, and no trial would have power to move them. They would acknowledge Him as their wisdom and efficiency, and He would bring to pass that which He desires to work out through them. - {PK 576.1}

sorry, I'm a serial multi-commentor haha! At this point, I just want to cry because God's providence led me to your video and I didn't really intend on watching it but I just clicked anyway. As I'm listening to your testimony, I feel so convicted. God took me and my family out of a big city into a smaller one and He opened the way and made it easy for us. A few months in (not even a year as yet) we are facing many troubles and I keep asking God, is it possible that it wasn't your voice I heard telling us to come here? Could I have been deceived? Then I heard you say that you also didn't just go straight to where you are now. You journeyed! There were stops in between. The one thing my mom and I kept saying when we got to the smaller city, is that we feel like it's just a stop on the way but, as things got progressively worse for us, we have forgotten that already. Wow!

White's writings or other. I feel like I and probably many are going through an experience right now and it may be helpful to study this too. Especially in my little family, we are going through trial after trial after trial. The only things that give me hope is knowing that Christ is in the trials with us and that these trials worketh patience and refine our characters. However, that doesn't make it easier, so if you don't mind. I would really appreciate your answer. Thank you and God bless.
