Let me break this down for you. 49:30 - Other countries do not have the same child labor laws that we do. You don't like their products, don't order them. Just remember this simple truth about some of those countries. A child wakes up at sunbreak, gets dressed, makes their on-the-floor palette bed, helps their mother with some chores. This child wont be eating breakfast today because his father has either been dead, sick, or has a low class job that does not cover every expense (Even worse, the father is deathly ill but still leaves before dawn to work a low class job). There is not a school for miles, in fact, the closest think to this child's village is a factory. They have no problem hiring children to use their machines, or sort products, or take out their garbage but on the other hand, they also do not have to pay a fair wage to the child they hire for those jobs. I was born in the 1970s, and this story actually brings the feels out in me. Not because it is some child I never met, or because they live in a poor country, but because it was a story that I heard from not just one relative. I heard it from most of my elderly relatives. And they weren't happy that child labor laws came about in the U.S. because it meant that their families had that much less to eat, wear, or live. Some of my relatives were envious of farm children because they were allowed to continue working without even getting paid for it. My step-father was yanked, quite literally, from his job in West Virginia as line layer for dynamite in the mines. He then spent 2 years not making any income but still having to eat and wear clothes. He had already graduated school (8th grade, so around 12-13 yrs old). It was around the same time that they made schooling mandatory, regardless of whether the families had the resources to send their children to schools miles away, every day, even in winter. I think that there was a lot overlooked by people who wanted to mess up the reast of our lives to satisfy some "well meaning, good feelings, look how good I am" crap that some rich, white wife had to have a purpose for.
