An advice I would give is to be better at time management, keep a balance between social life and academic life, to not procrastinate and get the work done instead of dragging it, and to enjoy every step and milestone, life is what we make out of it, there’s no point in stressing yourself over something you can’t control, to pray 5 times a day because ALLAH listens, it brings peace into your life, you start seeing light where you once saw darkness, he opens ways for you and opportunities start to arise at your doorstep, deen first and then dunya gets sorted alongside it

One advise for all my juniors. Especially for you guys is that " Try to work on Triage. Triage includes Good scores in steps. Second Research electives as well as clinical electives. Third is volunteer work with WHO affiliated programs." Believe me you will enjoy the real meaning medical college life. Posting pics and hanging out with friends without any aim or focus is just useless brothers/ sisters.

As a first year med student, I strongly agree with deciding on a direction. People say you should decide on a career in 3rd year when you're exposed to the clinicals but honestly, if you put your mind on something from the very beginning, it'll be better and wiser.

My advice to my first year self and all those first year students watching this is seek guidance about your course and everything that you need to learn in med school as much as you can, from someone related to your field. Or atleast dont shy asking questions that are your right. Donot stay silent thinking what would everybody think if i ask them silliest qs like what those charts in anatomy books mean.

@@shehrbano991 well hope for the best many students with Less percentages also score good in MCAT and their total aggregate increases

@@shehrbano991 it helps being a top student, getting into medicine considering how 50% of your merit percentage consists of your inter/Alevel. Having said that, the other 50% is based on your mcat, and speaking from experience, there are toppers who can screw up the mcat, and average to below average students topping the mcat. So as long as you're focused on your aim, persistent, anyone can do good
