This is our review of our Ambassador Ambience cruise experience. Does Ambassador really offer the warmest welcome at sea? In this review we look at the embarkation process in Tilbury, Food, Drink, Entertainment and much more. We sailed on Ambience for a British isles cruise in April 2023. We hope this review gives you a clear indication of what Ambassador has to offer.

Ambassador is Britains newest cruise line and we took the opportunity to sail with them in April 2023.Ambassador market themselves as Britain’s premium value no-fly cruise line who sail from 8 regional UK ports. Ambassador Ambience sailed around the British Isles and we were onboard for 11 nights. Ambassador Cruise Line currently has two ships in operation Ambience and Ambition.
We are Tom and Dom and we experienced our first cruise on the MSC Virtuosa during her UK staycation cruises in 2021. We are relatively new to cruising, however we can now say we are officially hooked.
Our mission is provide a fair and balanced review of our travels. We look at the types of food that is available onboard, from main dining rooms, room service, buffets and pool side snacks. We include menus for each of cruises so that we can share the selection of drinks and meals that are available. Entertainment onboard a cruise ship is important to us and we enjoy theatre production shows, live music, quizzes and game shows. We love to explore different ports and destinations and enjoy sharing tips and tricks so that you can make the most of each port. We often explore ports independently but also book excursions that are interesting to us.
We have created a list of our cruise essentials. These are items we take with us when we travel and we hope they may be useful to you. We have also added a Wine list which contains some of the wines we have tried whilst cruising.

Great balanced review guys and agree with everything you say. We did Ambience in June/July to Norway. One of the best cruises we have done and the best entertainment we have had - the entertainment team work their socks off. Loved the Botanical Garden bar and food was good most of the time. We enjoyed it so much we have booked their Xmas/New Year cruise to the Canaries this year.

Thanks for such a great set of videos about your Ambassador cruise trip. After seeing your videos, we have planned a similar 13 day around the UK in June 24 with Ambassador. I'm American but my family heritage is from Scotland and on all past cruises on other cruise lines I wear a kilt with Prince Charlie coat and vest on formal nights, but this is with a British cruise company. Do you think people will think it inappropriate for me to wear a formal kilt on formal nights since I am American? My wife is British (Liverpool) and we are moving to Scotland next year to live up near Aberdeen, but I don't want people to think I am "culturally appropriating" (or whatever) to wear a kilt. I trust your advice.

We think with your heritage and if done properly with a real kilt etc it would go down well as you are respecting Scotland and its traditions. Hope that helps

Hi Tom and Dom, thank you for the video very informative. I am a keen drone pilot, do you know if these are allowed on board? I have no intention of using this on the boat, it would be for the places we visit. Also do you know if we can get latte's and flat white coffee at all times of the day or only in the mornings.

Thank you for watching. We aren’t 100% sure about the drone and would hate to give you the wrong information so it certainly would be worth contacting Ambassador directly. In terms of Lattes and Flat Whites. Yes they are available all day from the coffee shops and select bars. Regular tea and coffee available 24/7

Thanks for the review, great video. Going on this winter! Just a bit concerned as a wheelchair user due what you said about the lifts. Will the lifts regularly breaking down affect my ability to get around the ship? Thanks

Thanks for watching 😀 Short answer is no, we never experienced any problems with the mid and forward lifts! Ambience being a small ship those are easily accessible. The staff were always quick to fix the lift issues and the only problem was during peak periods, such as dinner, where there was only one lift working. Hopefully these issues would have been sorted by now! 😀

Hi thanks for your question. You can upgrade onboard however it is always cheaper to do it before boarding or at the time of your booking. Onboard they will usually charge the difference between the two packages. Ambassador have different prices depending on the duration of your cruise. Does any restaurant offer food later on? I know when I’ve cruised with Fred Olsen they would offer buffet food from 22:00.

No there is no late night food offer on a restaurant. Just the canapés offered at 11pm in lounges

Thanks for this, I would love to see you travel and review on their ship Ambition. Travelling on it next summer, I've been on an MSC cruise and husband will be a first timer. I'd love for him to see all the glitz and fan fare of a big ship, but on the other hand he has nothing to compare to. I really hope it is as nice as the Ambience. Great review, very thorough, and love hearing other people's experiences and advice. Hopefully an earlier dinner sitting for us after your thoughts. X

Thanks Gents. My take is, Ambassador are attempting to cut food wastage to try and keep the quality as high as they can. And whoever thought, 'let's put on a straight forward play' is genius. It could catch on with other cruise lines.

Hi guys......I've never been with this company.....I've been with p@o. Ncl and rci....I'm willing to try more budget friendly cruises but I'm struggling here!!! 5 nights from Liverpool is on offer at 699pp from Liverpool in July.....yet p@o offer 7 nights around the canaries in Jan. Feb. For around 550 pp this includes flights and transfers......for a budget why would I go with ambassador 🤔 or am I missing something?

The feedback we had from passengers onboard was that Ambassador offer convenience with a smaller ship experience. The general feeling is that those passengers who enjoy ships like Aurora are those who would like Ambassador.

Yes, there was a gf section of the buffet and the chef welcomes people to discuss dietary requirements in Main Dining room on embarkation day
