Your español is really good, the driver was nice enough to speak slowly, but he still used a normal level of conversational vocabulary. And even though you used "proxima" instead of "ùltima", the intended message was easily understood. Good job to both of you! 👍

Maddie, we moved to Mexico recently and have discovered that if you put Pinol down on the floor it keeps most of the cockroaches out. Pinol comes in a green bottle and you mix it with water. Hopefully you are not allergic to it.
@TangerineTravels6 жыл бұрын
WHAT. We are best friends now. What is Pinol? Is it a cleaner...? We are buying some tomorrow. Lol 😂
@Stargrey6 жыл бұрын
Its a cleaner made with pine oil very strong mix with water, smell like christmas :3
@elgringomasmexicano6 жыл бұрын
Pinol is what Pine-Sol use to be before they went all synthetic. It's an all purpose cleaner made with pine oil.
@allenwiggins65686 жыл бұрын
It is a cleaner and disinfectant. I think you have to put it down about once a week. You mix it with water and basically mop it onto the floor. Don't worry if you do see a cockroach because it will be flipped over on its back and will be dead the next day. Google search Pinol cleaner and it will give you a picture of a green bottle. Tried to send you a photo of it but cannot figure out how to attach a photo to this message. A little story for you - one time we saw a cockroach in the kitchen and it was almost dead and I opened the kitchen door to let it out and it couldn't wait to get out. My wife is just as scared of cockroaches as you are. We are living in the Ajijic area near lake Chapala. Not too far away from where you are. We have really been enjoying your adventures here in Mexico and wish you all the best.

you all talking about pinol here... go to a tlapaleria (hardware store) and ask for MAX FORTE it is poison in a ceringe (geringa) kinda form u just put a lil drop of that thing in every corner of your hour (where the dog cannot reach) and it does wonders... makes roaches take the poison to their home there they die and kill all roaches around them... i never see roaches in my house.

Guys! Your Spanish is very good! Just one thing: When you were talking to the driver, I heard you said "próxima" instead of "última", I assumed that you don't know what's the difference between both words, but I'll tell you: Próxima = Next Example: "La próxima vez que venga, voy a traer agua" (Next time I come, I'll bring water) Última = Last Example: "La última vez que fuí, me trataron muy bien" (Last time I went, they treated me very nice) Hope it will help :) P.D I'm still learning English, so I'm sorry if I spell anything wrong. If having a teacher and learning a new language is difficult, I can't imagine how difficult it is to just learn from comments and experience.

Stay safe Maddie & Jordan.. Someone commented that it's not ok and that people should't get use to it, but we have to set the record straight: most of this events happen due to struggles between different criminal groups or political opponents (some would say that they are both the same, fighting over power)... so from now until the first week of July (after election day), there could be some more sh*t like this happening, so just be careful.. That Paella looked nice, specially considering that you had it in a cuban restaurant =P.. I have already told you in other videos, but if you ever go to Ciudad de Mexico, you must try out the "menú del día" in the Centro Castellano Restaurant (a few blocks away from the Zocalo).. I think it's about $250 pesos for each one, but it's a 5 course meal (one of which is a very good paella), a looot of food! And right in the corner, you can buy churros at "el moro", on the evening there is always a lot of people waiting in line.. Or if you ever drive futher to the south, I can give you some more interesting tips jaja (nieves oaxaqueñas is one of those.. real good stuff).. Greetings.

We'll make sure to stay aware of our surroundings, thanks for looking out for us! We'll be alert no matter what, especially until these elections are finished. It was pretty good Paella. Not gonna lie, we were thinking... this would taste SO good with some chili salt and lime haha. Guess we're becoming more Mexican day by day. Thanks for the reminder about those spots in CDMX! Not sure when we can make it there, but we'll keep those in mind for sure. :)

Dear guys, I’m a Mexican leaving in Germany for more than 10 years, and really enjoy your videos. I’m glad to see that you’re having a good time in my country . That said, please don’t order paellas in Mexico. That’s a Spanish dish, which by the way has always onion and peas. I’ve tried once a very good paella in Mexico City, but the restaurant owners were from Spain. Also saffron is quite expensive in Mexico and one cannot find it everywhere, so the price for a good paella wouldn’t be 200$ pesos.....Good luck the next time. Greetings from 🇩🇪

I was thinking that perhaps you could make a video about safety in Guadalajara, from your perspective and personal experience. I believe you haven't done a video like that yet. Without touching too much on the sad events that took place the other day. Maybe the person that said "excuse me" to you was from the US, I'm sure it was. There are some Americans around.
@TangerineTravels6 жыл бұрын
We could probably do that! We'll have to think about it a little. As a whole, I'm not sure we can think of a single situation where we didn't feel totally safe. Besides what happened the other day, there wasn't even a time where we felt like anyone walking by was "sketchy" or something like that. Do you have any thoughts on the major safety things to be aware of in GDL? Pickpocketing, fraud, things like that? Oh yeah, she definitely was. Seemed like a retiree who probably lives by Lake Chapala normally. It was still a strange thing to hear. 😋 P.S. Could you send us an email when you get a moment? costco is extrematly expensive here. If you buy in downtown Guadalajara, I am so sure that you can find similar products for just less than 75% from COSTCO offer. They are a huge but important reason for that: COSTO products are munufactured in china with US brand, so the prices are absolutely abusive compare to Mexican products manuacturated at some town of Michoacan State and sold probably at San Juan de Dios Market.

Pueden usar un poco de clicbait poniendo títulos como "gringos llendo a X tienda/restaurante mexicano por primera vez" a los mexicanos nos encanta ver el choque de culturas.

My dogs love the Kirkland lamb and rice at Costco. They turned their noses up on the chicken and rice.

Guys, if you still are in Guadalajara You need to go to San Pedro , Tlaquepaque, it's beautiful and honestly the mexican ice cream (nieve de garrafa) is delicious, really. The best place is Nieves Chapalita, besides you can visit the Parián, if you like, it's really nice, take care, good luck.

Tortas ahogadas RULE!!! Things that are more expensive in Mexico than the U.S. are mainly clothes and electronics. "excuse me?" Well... that wouldn't be to odd. You guys do stick out from the rest of the people in Guadalajara. I get spoken to in English and my hometown, And I was born here!!!

We need to have so many more while in GDL :) Oh yes, so true. Costco seems to be more expensive or equally priced as the US. Pretty sure this lady only spoke English but still. It was kinda cool to find that strange since English is our primary language. Well, and sarcasm. hehe

If you two gave up your car, how would you be able to move next time?
@TangerineTravels5 жыл бұрын
As long as we have a dog it'd be difficult otherwise we could move around by bus.

Hey.. You should go in these days to "9 Esquinas", go in the morning like 10am, and try some "Pitayas" and for lunch, try "Birria"
@TangerineTravels6 жыл бұрын
Is Birria a dish or a restaurant? Our Uber driver yesterday mentioned Birria but we were having trouble understanding everything he was saying. Thanks for the recommendation! So it doesn't matter what day we go?
@alexflofig6 жыл бұрын
Tangerine Travels it is a dish, and the zone of 9 esquinas has several restaurants that serve it

I’ve enjoyed watching your videos so much. Lots of interesting info. Costco is very expensive in Guadalajara compared to the USA, try SAMS, it’s a bit cheaper. Stay safe 😊

So, you're looking at SOCKS? I just happen to have a bilingual socks joke: This guy goes into a store and tells the clerk, "Estoy buscando calcetines." The lady replies, "I'm sorry I don't speak Spanish." So she tries showing him items in the men's department. First, a shirt. "No, Señorita, eso no es." Then underwear. "No, esto tampoco no es." Finally, they come to the socks and he says happily, "ESO SI QUE ES." The lady looks at him and says, 'If you knew how to spell it, why didn't you do that in the first place?" Now you have a cute bilingual joke you can tell people.

We couldn't remember but luckily we were able to zoom up on the footage. It says $22,999 and that's tax included. Not too bad... a little over $1k usd.

"No, it's just a metaphor!" Lol. Technically Maddie won, but Jourdan killed it (at this moment I'm not sure if I spelled your names right). I'm also surprised of your Spanish! You are getting better and better. Take care guys, xx

Very fair ruling, we think! ;) You almost got it! It's spelled Jordan. And Maddie is correct. Thanks for the compliment! We're trying to practice and improve every day.
