Thank you for making this walk around video. I was curious if it could cook a hog, and if so what size. Great info. 👍

I’m working on a video to show some of my whole hog cooks. I usually cook smaller hogs. I order 90lbs with the head off and the feet off. Butterflied that will fit easily on the grates. I just did a 120lb but I did a full split and cooked 1 half on each grate. I’ve done some bigger in this same way. It’s just easier to manager. Obviously you could get a much more efficient yield from butts, but I prefer whole hog BBQ.

@Cluckin Pig BBQ Any new videos you create would be great. I know it's no easy task to shoot video, edit, and work post-production. Many people like myself would be interested in expanding our knowledge through informative video. 👍

That is my dream smoker, and the same size I hope for some day. Been following Paul and the boys for years. I have a 300 gal round milk cooler that I made into an offset back in 1996. It works awesome, just would like 1 of Paul's. Keep blessing people with great food!!

Thanks so much Don! I’d love to see that milk cooler smoker. I grew up cooking with my dad on a converted oil drum

Nice rig almost my turn, anything you wished you would have added now?
@cluckinpigbbq2621
@cluckinpigbbq2621 2 жыл бұрын
Yes! I would add drip guards on the main chamber doors and I would add at least two additional shelving tracks in the main so I can move racks as needed. Other than that she's perfect for me. Good luck with your build.

One more question for you,the dual burners do you see them as good option? realistically do you see yourself using them? iam debating going single burner because I want to keep the cookers foot print as small as possible. I don’t see myself using two but one burner I would use. I already have a griddle so don’t see myself using it for that purpose.

@@dmdm9198 I use at least one burner on every cook. I literally debated adding the burners up until Paul said “hey man - I need a decision!!!” Same reasoning as you. They add almost 3 feet to the length, but if I had to do it again I’d still get them. At minimum one. Check with them though - they done a couple of fold down burners on the backside that don’t add any length. One small thing to keep in mind is the way they build them they are pretty loud because they flat out move some propane.

WHICH 1 OF THOSE RACKS IS THE HOTTEST INSIDE THE MAIN CHAMBER
@cluckinpigbbq2621
@cluckinpigbbq2621 Жыл бұрын
Sorry for slow reply. They are pretty even but top tends to run 5-10 hotter especially towards the back. The bottom rack on the end closest to the firebox also runs a little hotter.
