Great video and keep it up! When Kierkegaard talks about the "self" and calls it spirit, he is actually mocking Hegel's way of writing. "Spirit" or "Geist" is used in the Hegelian sense. However, the ironic and fascinating thing about this is that Kierkegaard is actually presenting Hegel's notion of the self correctly. In fact, Kierkegaard admits in a letter that his book "sickness unto death" is too "dialectical". If I'm not mistaken, it was Dieter Henrich who said that if Kierkegaard didn't exist, God would still create him to shed light on Hegel. Towards the end of your video, I liked how you talked about the definition of "sin". Unbeknownst to Kierkegaard, all he did was explaining what Hegel's dialectics is all about. "Sin" which means to "miss the mark" is actually very dialectical. As Mladen Dolar puts it, "it's only missing the mark which [retroactively] creates the mark itself". This connects nicely to Kierkegaard's Concept of Anxiety which he says §5 "Innocence is ignorance". He even says that in innocence (mankind in the garden of Eden before the original sin), humanity is undifferentiated with his/her surroundings. Since you cover Lacan in this channel, you can connect this to his notion of the Real: the non-existing "unity" or paradise of Jouissance between the mother and child. Kierkegaard says that this is Anxiety and Lacan's definition of anxiety is exactly the lack of a lack! Anxiety arises when lack itself is lacking. I think this is what Kierkegaard is aiming at with his notion of Sickness unto Death. The true horror is not that we are afraid of death. Instead, the true horror is precisely when you cannot die, when you are stuck with the eternal and infinite. I tend to interpret this undead repetition as Freud's death drive which he calls the compulsion-to-repeat. As a Christian, Kierkegaard does not want people to return to the Garden of Eden or pre-original sin of mankind because this is precisely the sickness unto death. It is not a state of paradise or peace, but pure anxiety. I hope this interests you!

Thank you for your amazing comment! I like how you connect Kierkegaard to Lacan, and I can see what you mean by the "lack in the lack", especially in the part of possibility is to lack necessity, where the conclusion would then be that to much possibility is exactly Lacan's definition of anxiety. Please keep these comments going! We really appreciate your knowledge! 😄

This relates to Deleuze, societies of control; in a logical sense. Where, the ideal individual is seperated into a plurality; a 'dividual' which is made subject to different regimes of signs, under the aspect of capitalism, or the state, etc.

I am happy to inform you that after the first comment I got regarding Deleuze on another video, that I bought his book Logic of Sense. And I will begin studying Deleuze in the near future! 😄 Thank you for your comment!

@@eversbrothersproductions1476 Good luck, it gets frustratingly difficult later on. But aslong as you have a good grasp of Nietszche, and a general sense of marx, kant, spinoza, and the overall 'vibe' of his philosophical time period (postmodern/psotstructuralist schools), then all should be well.
