Try Simple Village Tuna Soup Dish. Boil 5 cloves of crushed garlic, 2 thinly-sliced onions, 1 thinly-sliced ginger, 3-4 pieces of quartered red tomatoes, and 3 tablespoons of fish sauce in 5-6 cups of water. When boiling, add 4-5 slices of tuna into the mixture and let it boil for a minute or two. Then add about 100 grams of sweet potato or kamote tops (young leaves). Let it boil for 2 more minutes or until leaves are soft. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat. Juice 5-6 kalamansi and strain to remove seeds. Blend in the kalamansi juice before serving. Watch the soup turn red. Enjoy!

Hi, Andrei and Fambam! I've been watching your videos for quite a while now. Welcomw to the Philippines and thank you for genuinely loving our country. By the way, you can also cook tuna as a soup, Andrei. In my province, we cook it as a soup especially if it's fresh. Here's how: INGREDIENTS: * 2pcs Tomatoes * 1pc Red Onion * Salt (to taste) * 1 pack magic sarap (smallest) * 3-4pcs Calamansi * 1/2 kilo Tuna * 1 Liter Water * 1 bundle of Kamote Tops or Kangkong * 2pcs Siling Haba (or green chilis, or you can ask the vendor for siling pansigang) STEPS: 1. Prepare and wash the ingredients. 2. Cut the tomatoes and onions, and remove the kamote top leaves from the stems and wash. (NOTE: Discard the stems or you can actually plant them in your backyard, they grow easily) 3. Wash the tuna (must be cut just like how it was cut in this video) and rub a small amount of salt on them. 4. Boil the water with the cut tomatoes and onions in a pot. 5. Put a very small amount of salt too. 6. Once the water is boiling and the tomatoes and onions are soft, put the salted tuna. 7. Wait for the water to boil again. 8. Once the soup boils again, you can put the green chilis (you do not need to chop the chilis but if you want a little kick of spiciness, you may cut them. Since the children are eating too, I advice not to cut them) . 9. Wait for maybe just around 1minute. 10. Add Magic Sarap (just half of the small pack) and squeeze the calamansi juice (strain the seeds, DO NOT put the seeds in the soup). 11. Adjust the saltiness according to your liking by adding salt. If you feel like it's too salty, you can just add water to lessen the saltiness). 12. Once the flavor is already okay with you (TAKE NOTE: It should taste salty and a bit sour, like the sinigang), you can now add the kamote top leaves/kangkong and wait for maybe at least another 1minute. By the way, this recipe is flexible, you can actually add okra or eggplant or string beans (sitaw). Also, if you desire to cook more than a half kilo of tuna, just the amount of other ingredients too. It's not that to sensitive of a recipe. Enjoy the soup while it's hot. You can put it on the steamed rice, I find it best that way. Haha! I hope you discover more wonderful things here in the Philippines. God bless the whole family and I look forward to watching more of your videos. Enjoy your stay and have more fun and enjoy the Philippines! 🇵🇭 ❤😊

Optional: semi-ripe saba banana sliced in half with skin on, singkamas or radish and a bit of sesame oil and soy sauce to taste. BTW, the banana is only good if using pork or beef sinigang. Don't put one if tuna or shrimps.😊 Do not ever use chicken for sinigang😊

Tuna..you can cook it a lot of ways pan frying is surely delicious. Here's some common way. Sinigang - tuna with veggies in tamarind paste (sour soup) Sinabawan - tuna with veggies ( plain soup) Guinataang Tuna - tuna in coconut cream Paksiw - tuna cooked in vinegar Tuna adobo Interestingly, you can also fuse guinataan and paksiw. Cook it with coconut cream and drizzle with vinegar. Tip: if you guys cant eat spicy food, theres a non- spicy chili just like bell-pepper but it is more aromatic and is really ibtended for local use. It is called either SILING HABA or SILINH PANIGANG. you can ask for it in the market and very if it is spicy or not. Because some is a tad spicy some totally not.

I saw your eating potato with tuna instead of rice. You may try Kamote as what the locals call it or sweet potato. It is a very nutriuous source of carbohydrates. You can boil it without peeling. There are a lot of varieties of kamote available yellow, orange, violet and white.

Hi! I have a suggestion for those slices of tuna. This is my mom's version of tuna steak. Lightly rub each slice with salt, then shallow fry them for like 2 minutes for each side. While frying, prepare 1/4 cup of soy sauce, add calamansi juice (about 5 to 7 pieces), and add ground pepper (taste the mixture; if you find it a bit sour, you may add half a teaspoon of sugar, or if you want it to be more sour, then add more calamansi juice. Also, to lessen the intensity of the soy sauce, you may add some water.). Mix all the ingredients. Remove the fried slices of tuna from the pan. On the same pan, put the soy sauce and calamansi mixture and let it simmer. Then add lots of raw onion rings. Sauté the onion rings in the mixture until slightly translucent, and then add the fried slices of tuna into the mixture. You can also set aside some uncooked onion rings for toppings. Another recipe that you may want to try is Ginataang Tuna. The ingredients are as follows: Tuna, green chilies or siling pangsigang (a couple of pieces will do, considering that your family is not too keen on eating spicy dishes), egg plants or aubergines, vinegar, coconut milk, pechay or bok choy, or mustard leaves, minced garlic, thinly sliced onions, and julienned ginger, and finally salt and pepper to taste. Sauté garlic, onion, and ginger. Add the tuna slices and let the flavours of the sauteed veggies coat the tuna slices. Then add vinegar; let it simmer, but don't mix it for a while to allow the sharpness of the vinegar to evaporate. After a couple of minutes, add the coconut milk and stir. If you find the mixture too thick, you may add a bit of water. Then add the egg plants or aubergines. Simmer until the egg plants or aubergines are slightly soft, then add the green chilies and pechay. Continue simmering until all the veggies are slightly tender to touch. Then add salt and a bit of pepper to taste. I hope Mama Olga will try the recipes in the near future. Enjoy and carpe diem!

Andrey, tell Mama Olya to rub a considerable amount of salt to the tuna before frying it because what she did there will make the saltiness of the tuna uneven. She only put salt on some parts only, so some parts will taste too salty and some parts will be bland. Tell her that she should fry it quickly in high heat. Don't fry it too long because it will get dry. You may also cook it like steak, tuna steak. For the steak, try to find "Knorr Seasoning (original flavor)" to put on your steak and other food. Knorr Seasoning tastes so much better than Maggi Savor. You can also chop the tuna up like ground meat, season it and make some lumpiang shanghai. You can buy lumpia wrappers at the market and sweet chili sauce for the dipping. You can also make siomai out of it. It is called fish siomai or tuna siomai. You can also make tuna sisig.

"Ginataang Tuna" is my favorite recipe for tuna filet: Ingredients 4 tuna slices (about 800g) salt and pepper cooking oil for frying 3 cloves garlic, chopped finely 1 onion, chopped 1-inch knob of ginger, sliced 1 tomato, chopped 1/2 cup coconut milk from grounded coconut (there are stores in the market who can grind it for you) 1 tbsp patis(soy sauce will do if no patis) 2 pcs green chili 1/4 cup vinegar 2 bunch petchay Instructions: Season the tuna slices with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a pan and fry the tuna until half cooked or fully cooked. Remove from pan and set aside. Remove half of the oil from the pan. Sauté the garlic, onion, ginger, and tomato. Add coconut milk. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add the patis. Mix well. Add the fried tuna slices and green chillis. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the vinegar and bring to a boil. Add the petchay and cover. Serve with rice. Enjoy!

for frying tuna or any fish in general, we usually rub the fish with salt then sprinkle with ground black pepper to taste and kalamansi juice to remove the fishy smell. let it sit for 5 min while waiting for the oil to get hot. you can know this when you start to see smoke coming out of the pan. once it is there, you need to put the fish immediately, otherwise the oil will be too hot and burn the fish
