Here's our six-month progress of developing an indie co-op multiplayer FPS. Taking it one day at a time!
It feels like just yesterday that the three of us embarked on this incredible adventure of developing our very own multiplayer first-person shooter (FPS) game. Looking back at the past six months, it's hard to believe how far we've come. As we sit down to reflect on our progress, we can't help but feel a mix of excitement, pride, and a tinge of exhaustion. Nevertheless, we're ready to share our journey with you.
From day one, we knew that developing a multiplayer FPS game would be a monumental task, but armed with our passion for gaming and a shared vision, we were determined to give it our all. Countless late-night brainstorming sessions, heated debates, and cups of coffee later, we started to see our dream taking shape.
One of the most satisfying moments was when we finally nailed down the core gameplay mechanics. We wanted our game to offer a fast-paced, adrenaline-fueled experience that would keep players on the edge of their seats. After numerous iterations and tweaks, we managed to achieve smooth movement, precise aiming, and controls that felt just right. It was a breakthrough that gave us the confidence to push forward.
Building upon that foundation, we dove headfirst into creating a diverse arsenal of weapons. As avid FPS players ourselves, we knew how crucial it was to have a satisfying array of firearms. We spent hours perfecting the recoil patterns, balancing damage values, and designing each weapon with its own unique characteristics. Seeing our hard work come to life in the game was incredibly rewarding.
But it wasn't just about the mechanics and weapons; we wanted to create immersive and visually stunning environments that would captivate players. We spent countless hours refining every nook and cranny, adding dynamic lighting, and implementing realistic environmental effects that would transport players into our game world.
Of course, a multiplayer game wouldn't be complete without solid networking functionality. It was a daunting task, but we were determined to create a seamless experience for players worldwide. With sleep-deprived eyes and an unwavering commitment, we tackled the complexities of server-client architecture and implemented matchmaking algorithms that ensured fair and competitive matches. The satisfaction of seeing players from different corners of the globe come together in our game was indescribable.
Looking back, these past six months have been a whirlwind of emotions. There were moments of doubt, sleepless nights, and countless hurdles to overcome. But through it all, we relied on each other's strengths, laughter, and unwavering determination. We're proud of the progress we've made so far, and we're grateful for the support of our friends, family, and the gaming community.
As we continue our journey, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation for all the excitement and anticipation surrounding our game. We can't wait to share more updates and milestones with you in the coming months. Together, let's create a multiplayer FPS experience that will leave players breathless and hungry for more. Stay tuned, and thank you for joining us on this incredible adventure!

I really like seeing comparisons like these! Although the concept remains the same it's always nice to look back at the planning that went into the final/upcoming results
