Some hotels and buildings don’t have the 13th floor because some people believe 13 is bad luck. So they either call the 13th floor the 14th or they make the 13th floor a service floor.

As a Utah resident, I can confirm that the 13th floor is a service floor for the Grand America. However, it is not a full floor, more like a crawl space for equipment and machinery.

if a hotel has a fourteenth floor than it has a thirteenth floor, the hotel just uses that floor for maintenance and supplies. So you guys were staying on the fourteenth floor. But I understand what Marla is saying because I used to think that too until I found out the truth. My dad used to work on hotel buildings and he has been on thirteenth floors and they just use them for supplies and equipment.

I work in this hotel and we really do not have a 13th floor. We have supplies and equipment somewhere else. Also, the employees have separate elevators and we as well do not have a 13th floor. The Little America as well does not have a 13th floor

people believe that 13 is a bad luck. but in indonesia there's a horror movie called "Lantai 13" or "13th floor" in english, i watched it when i was in elementary (i'm in college now). and since then i thought the reason why there's no 13th floor in some buildings because ghosts and scary stuff happens in 13th floor 😂😂😂😂
