Loved hearing your story, guys - lovely couple. I have been with my barranquillera since 2008. We met online to study English-Spanish and fell in love once I went down to visit her. She looks a lot like Widney, perhaps a little more morenita. I'd say we are both very fortunate men. ❤

hi guys, I loved this, raw, real and uncut. I've been here for 3 weeks now, currently in Neiva, then following this path, Neiva, Pasto, Popayan, Cali and continue to make my way to the state of Antioquia all the way up to Bucaramanga.

I love your love story!!! What is the easiest and the hardest thing to marry a person that is not from your country or share your culture?
@lifetheorycouple2 ай бұрын
Vivi! - We'll have to answer this in a future video... I cannot say there is one thing... The most difficult thing in general is probably expectations... Like the expectation in Colombian culture is to prioritize things around family and family activities, versus in the US people tend to plan things around themselves as an individual. --- BUT, because expectations for all sorts of things like this one example are consistently brought up or discovered, it makes it easier to maintain openness and perspective on how the other sees or views things, or has adopted/inherited ideas/perspectives from their culture of origin... This question needs its own video.

What are the differences in growing up in two different countries? Family life, schooling, etc
@lifetheorycouple2 ай бұрын
O MY.... This just deserves its own video... The differences are drastic. Widny (Colombiana) grew up in Bogota in a densely populated city... Jonny (Amerian) grew up in the suburbs of Dallas TX. Public school is usually a good and practical option in the suburbs but not the case in big cities like Bogota... Widny went to private school and Jonny was in public school for elementary and home-schooled for high-school. --- Family life is different too... In Colombia things are centered around the family, so the weekends are almost always spent entirely with the family. That is from Friday night to Sunday night, all day, every day... In the US, you're more of individual, you do what you want... Especially the way Jonny grew up, there wasn't much emphasis on family in his adulthood until Widny came around... --- We'll have to plan answering this one in more depth in a future video.

Very cute video, thank you. We are thinking of retiring in Colombia one day, so we watched all your videos of staying a month in each city in Colombia, loved those! I did not know how much we had in common until this video! I also met mi pareja on Plenty of Fish, and she is Colombian from Bogota. I also already had a positive connection to Colombians before I met her, having worked with some Colombians and having visited the family of one in Bogota. If you are ever in Miami, let me know, would love to get together. My gmail username is the same as on here. Espero que nos encontramos un dia!
