So I cried a few times while watching 😪. I loved the way Gerd explained boundaries and teaching people how to treat you "not asking for permission". This is a principle I live by and he articulated it so succinctly. I am going to get that book "I like you" so that I give it to my husband as a birthday gift. Omg! As an empath who just came out of a highly toxic/emotionally abusive relationship, you have no idea how it does my heart good to hear Gerd talk about protecting you, Claudette. With my therapist’s help, I’m now learning how to set boundaries, and protect my emotional health, but it’s so awesome that you have someone like him in your corner. You both give me so much hope. That proposal was so beautiful, I love that every detail showed that he paid attention to all the details that mattered over the years. From your childhood admiring the park, to the sacrifices riding Greyhound every weekend using your tip money to getting the ring you designed- such a great man. That wedding dress was stunning, I get what you mean by everything was exactly how you wanted it. People often forget in the hub bub if wedding planning what's important- saying your vows to each other before God and those that truly matter. Partying hard hey thats the way to end it 🙂

I had a similar stance on my wedding . I went dress shopping on my own and did everything on our own. We didn’t accept help until the majority of the stuff was established . We wanted to “reduce the noise” coming from two big and very opinionated families and it was the best decision ever . It was a blend of traditional and non traditional as well. loved watching the wedding clips b/c it’s so me. Just stripped down and unique. I’m a Libra as well and even planning MY own birthdays I’m honestly thinking of myself LAST. Putting into perspective what the other can spend, when it would be convenient for others, thinking about restricted diets etc it just gets LOUD. So I love what Gerd said about reducing the noise. I can only work and pray to live a life as authentic and true to ME as you all. Coming from a religious background exactly like yours Claude (staying in it until I was 23) has me just now embracing alllllll my uniqueness and not seeing it as a curse.
