What a FUN birth story for that precious baby to have! My youngest is almost 21, and she was born very rapidly like your Belly Bud, almost without a doctor in the room! Nurse says, “Let’s try a test push,” so I did, and I see this look of panic on her face and she says, “No! Don’t push! Don’t laugh! Don’t talk! Don’t even fart!” and throws the door wide open yelling for my Doctor. Room was swarmed by doc and nurses and half a push later, my little peanut was here! 😂 May God bless you for the amazing gift you gave the IPs, and for sharing your life with the world. ❤

We lost our son at 39 weeks so when we got pregnant with our rainbow, we had to do a BPP weekly from 20 weeks till 38 weeks when i delivered. It was absolutely amazing the technology they have to keep our babies safe and monitored.

I feel like people don't talk about the wonderful gift of a child to another couple very often, whether it's through surrogacy or through adoption. Oh my gosh your delivery experience with the baby coming when trying to get an epidural is very very similar to mine with my second baby! I was in the middle of getting the epi and I was like baby is coming NOW! They told me I had to wait but I had no control ❤️

You are an Angel! My first was stillborn, and my husband and I didn’t know if we were going to be able to have children. I had a friend step forward and offer to carry for us, should we need a surrogate. Women like you and surrogacy is such a blessing to women who aren’t able to carry their own babies. Knowing I had that option gave me some hope when there were so many unknowns for us. I had 2 subsequent healthy (high risk) pregnancies after. My babies are 4 and 2 now and they are my entire world. Also, random, can you link your bunny ear, bandana headbands? They are SO cute!

My daughter had her sweet little girl on the 17th after an ecv to flip baby from breach and an induction. 62 hours of labor and 2.5 hours of pushing, no pain medicine or epidural. @@Thisnthatwitholivia This was our last too. I had natural births with our older kids, I was rushed into an emergency C-section with baby boy. My water broke at 34 weeks & he was breach. Between the early water breaking & the C-section, I feel like I missed out. I got shorted on my last pregnancy/labor/delivery. Our kids are so far apart in age, (19, 11, 8 & newborn) that I keep telling my husband we'll give it a few years & revisit the subject 😂. But, in reality, I just turned 39, so we're done making babies 😭.

Pitocin made my first born sons Heart Rate drop super low and even though it came back up My Dr did not want to wait so I ended up with and emergency c section. Sam you are an amazing woman for blessing the intended parents by carrying their baby .

The hills where their heart rate go up are called accelerations. Just like if you jump, kick, or move around your heart "reacts" and increases for a sec. The NST just makes sure baby does also. :) The docs are usually itching to induce at 39 weeks anyhow. 😬 lol. They like things "on schedule"

First of all let me start off by saying congratulations! I've enjoyed watching your story, your journey I should say.Thank you for sharing it with all of us! Now I had two natural labors also and then on the third I was like you when I hit a certain point laying there they said if you want to do an epidural you have to do it right now you're at 6 cm this is the window. I was like okay let's do it, while they're putting the epidural in my back I started yelling at the baby was coming the doctors like no way there's no way the baby's coming. I kept saying it so they looked down I had gone from 6:00 to 10:00 in the matter of minutes! I was delivering for the epidural ever kicked in LOL

The same thing happened with me with the anesthesiologist getting in there right when I was ready to push. I tried to sit on the edge of the bed but couldn’t. I couldn’t even sign anything lol. I had asked for the epidural when it first was available and there was an emergency they had to go to. So this time around I’m getting my epidural asap. I already have it written down to get the epidural before they break my water because with my daughter they broke my water when I was at 4cm and I had her within an hour and a half. The whole time waiting for the anesthesiologist.

There are many ways for induction and you don’t always need pitocin. I was induced twice and didn’t need it. In the video you say you need it for induction but wanted to clarify that it’s not the case for everyone. Every induction is different depending on baby and mamas needs :)

I had one baby with only cervadil. Guess it depends on cervix, how far along, and how your body reacts to stuff.

Did IPs have a say in whether you got induced or was that your call? Is there some thing in the contract about these situations?

It was her doctor that said she was getting induced

As an IP, it is in our contract (through an agency) that the doctor makes 100% of medical decisions. The surrogate is also bound by some rules from the agency regarding what hospital she can deliver at, rules around when/how far she can travel during different phases of the pregnancy, etc. The IPs can ask for additional things (such as organic food, etc.) in the contract, but most don’t do that. We’re pretty much just along for the ride!
