I will disagree with you on the decline of Iowa’s. It wasn’t 2020. Yes it was a shortened season. Spencer came in as the new starting QB. After starting with 2 losses they then won 6 in a row. They averaged 31.75 points per game. Then came the slide down in offensive. More specifically the O line when Tom Polasek left to go to Wyoming. Enter George Barnett O line coach and the decline started. Now there are a few other things that probably contributed to the decline but it wasn’t, and still isn’t just on Brian.

Other team fan's thoughts on Brian Ferentz departure: sucks, now Iowa might actually score on us. Would say tho, BF was not the right hire even back then. IMHO, head coaches shouldn't hire their kids as coordinators or even position coaches unless and until that kid has been well-established in the league, ON OTHER TEAMS with no daddy connection, for years. It's a disservice to all involved. This would have been like Jim Harbaugh making Jay Harbaugh OC......would have been a similar embarrassment for UM as it was for Ferentz and IA.

Power football can definitely work, and so can leaning into the strengths of your team. That being said, there are SOME strengths on the offense, and we don't lean on it at all. We don't lose the Minnesota game if we don't give Deacon the football. We should only run the ball the rest of the year.

@@user-fl5rb9qy6z Seriously, I’m in the same boat. Deacon has been so awful and it’s a miracle he hasn’t thrown more picks. So many fumbles, dropped INTs and passes that were thrown SO damn hard that the defender couldn’t even make a play 😂 Petras would be a dramatic step up and I’d never thought I’d say that…🫠
