Here I am with another goofy smile on my face, watching this little enchantress learn cooking from her very patient parents and show off her knowledge of vegetables and fruit. All with the same enthusiasm with which she learns new languages from her babysitter and her big sister and her Dad. An all-rounder par excellence and so cute, to boot! Bless you Sophia. You bring many of us much joy.

Hello to the Cool Eats family and all loyal subscribers reading my comment. This is one of the best videos you have done so far because is wonderful to see a small child so excited about helping to prepare dinner. You have made it possible for her by providing the necessary space and the tools such as the cutting device, (which is so cute) and the chair/stool. The experience of helping to cook is critical for a child because cooking is a core life skill. A healthy diet is so important for good long-term health and well-being. Learning to cook is as much about the value of the food, as it is in the process and ingredients. The positioning of veggies in the pan would be called 'cut side down' not 'face side down'. Sophia sure loves her Dad. This is a heartwarming and fun video.

The things we learn!!! I actually learned that toasting started in ancient Greece, where it was customary to drink wine to honir the Gods. They would first spill some wine onto the ground in the hopes that they would be blessed with good health and answers to their prayers. And that we got the word "toast" from the piece of charred bread that was immersed in one's drink and eaten after the wishes of good health or good or cheer. So many stories. All of them fascinating! I love learning a new thing every day. This was today's, first thing in the morning.

Pineapple with chicken sounds interesting, Sophia! You're right! The inside of potatoes do look like pineapple! So very cute! The ritual of "Cheers" before you drink wine might be what Sierra said for Vikings. But in Mediterranean cultures (Greek, Roman, French & Spanish) it is a way if making certain that no one is wishing the other person "bad luck, ill health or monetary misfortune". In Ancient times, you had meals with your enemies before you went to war to give both sides a chance to sort out their differences. Therefore, you said, "Cheers" looking your enemy in the eye while clinking glasses, chalices, beer mugs, steins etc. It was believed to be a sign of weakness if you looked down, or away from your enemy. It is further proven in mob movies, mob books and Viking comics and movies. Even the British Royal Family is schooled in always looking people in the eyes when lifting a glass for "Cheers". Pretty interesting concept! Yes, we do learn some things from Bravo. Though I hate to admit it sometimes, but learning is a very good thing!😊 Have a great day! Nancy
