So happy I found your channel. I play lots of games with my wife, she likes to play with her friends, we have a mixed group with different levels of English and I am always on the hunt for family type, language-dependent games! Unsurprisingly when I looked over your video list, it mentioned most of the games we play most often!

I think I can explain the fun fact about "Tsuro": The actual word for route is in fact 通路 tsūro, with a long vowel, marked by a diacritic when written in Latin transcription. These diacritics often get lost when the words are transferred to languages that don't use them. That's why it's possible to confuse tsūro with tsuro (ツロ) , which is a name for the biblical city of Tyre, used in some Japanese bible translations. On top of that, "tyre" is also the British spelling of "tire", so that's probably why the translator gave you "tire" instead. Mystery solved, I hope! Anyway, I enjoyed your video a lot, keep it up! I really think of giving some of the games you presented a tire/trie! e: I love Bohnanza so much, played it a lot with my little brother back when I was a kid, most of the expansions are really fun as well!

I was very excited about The Climbers when it was being brought to the West, then I played it at GenCon... I did not like it. But I still love the idea of it. You may like Tokyo Highway.

@@diceythings Nice suggestion! I had forgotten about that one. Haven't played it yet... As for The Climbers, it's not my favorite, but it is language independent, and works well with kids. Believe it or not, it can be a thinky two player abstract. Cheers!

I was actually waiting for a game like Whitehall Mystery to be in here. I also have a lot of games I bought to play with exchange students and people that all speak a different language. Whitehall Mystery is a very nice game for this list as well.

Nice list, you should play the regular istanbul. my parents also dont enjoy games that have a lot of reading and because of that i mainly only play language-independent games with them. istanbul is by far their favourite and they always want to play it.
