Controversial video post #2! Top 5 Anvil/Tarpit units. A critical role on the battlefield, which units can reliably stop enemies in their tracks?

I concur. Good call on the Mummies, I use them all the time and people are always surprised when they can't shift them on the 1st try.

Hordes of ironclad at underrated at 180 pts and 5+ defense. plus they pack a punch with 25 attacks. A single Greater Earth Elemental is good with 6+ defense at a cheap and small footprint. But then again i'm a dwarf player so i'm biased. Love the passion guys! Anyone who says KOW isn't flavourful enough should watch your videos! I've had a tough time with shieldbreakers too until i discovered that you can shoot their flanks!

Great video, helpful insights. I understand why it didn't make the list, but I am partial to Villein Martyr hordes for the Brotherhood. At first glance they don't look like much. Regen 6+ and Def 4+ looks like crap - *but* if you combine that with fearless, then drop a couple valiant units nearby (easy to do with the cok18 upgrade) and the Banner of the Griffin - now they are -/25. With that much Nerve regen 6+ actually plays out and they have great attrition value. Something to consider. PS - Would love to see a video from you guys on using chaff! Top 5 and maybe some tactics demos!?

Not the best anvil for the points but undead wraiths with Def 6 and life leach(1). I've found with flying they have the ability to really chose an opposing non-flying unit and keep it occupied for a few turns.

What about blood worms from night stalkers cheap legion with life leach and stealthy 23/26 leadership and 40 attacks? Other than that great video as always. I have to get to Ohio sometime to get my night stalkers stomped on. Thanks again keep posting.

R Willis Stealthy and lifeleech make that happen for me. Pair it with Planar Apparition and something like the Dream Hunter and things get sticky.

i use goblin rable legions fory anvils. and with the piles of bane chant goblins bring for cheap thise 25 attacks on 5 even stick once in a while

Totally agree with you. As a player who frequently plays against undead, EOD, and rats... Its brutal how much they get for that cheap. BTW calebs old ogres got best painted in wichita the other day. How would Caleb say it? "I'll go upstairs and punch your baby." No butthurt here lol.

You forgot the only horde with DEF6 in the game : placoderms. Def 6+, Ne 20/22, Phalanx. And 30 attacks just in case :D

I understand you have a soft sport for them rats, short people likes dwarves maybye? Nice list, never considered the great value many such multi abilities units have. You are right one gets 1½ off them instead off the standard big expensive unit with item...

+Keith Williamson Dude we're always joking. Think of this as an alternate approach. Not "the hardest unit to get off the board" but a unit with a good footprint, good price point, that is surprisingly hard to shift.
