LWFC and Be are certified classics, you can maybe add Ressurection there as well and ODIAMS is a great album. Common is THE face of the whole conscious branch of hip hop. He was an important figure of the Soulquarians. He has worked closely with legendary producers, in Kanye and No ID. His impact is undeniable. He's also one of the best storytellers and his lyrical ability is up there. Aside from his catalog, he has a whole bunch of dope features (Respiration has got to be one of my favorite songs ever man) and he won a rap beef against Ice Cube. "Longevity is so important" but Biggie is like Lou's GOAT and both have multiple rappers very high that had like less than 10 years careers. But then will turn around and say that it's too early to call Kendrick the GOAT even though the only rapper that can even compete with Kendrick is Nas. Yeah, these guys got some serious double standards. I get that he released 2 classics while alive but you can’t just imagine the rest of Biggie’s career. Also, they talk about being an amazing MC… then why is Pharoahe Monch so low??? Pharoahe Monch is 10x the MC JCole will ever be! He bas better projects, better track presence, more varied instrumentals, and he’s - most importantly - a better spitter. Seeing Ghostface Killah in BOTH of their top 20s further proves my point that Pharoahe should be up there with him! Anyway, my point is it feels like these guys didn’t completely do their research on each of these MCs as there’s no way they ranked some of these people the way they did with full context of their careers

@@secondary479Lupe is the greatest lyricist of all time and has 5 classics, Food and Liquor, The Cool, Tetsuo and Youth, Drogas Wave, and Drill Music In Zion. The reason I don’t have Lupe at number 1 is because he made bad albums for a few years between the Cool and Tetsuo and Youth because his label was forcing him to make more commercial music and most people switched off from his music. If you haven’t heard his last 3 albums, especially Tetsuo and Youth which is in my opinion the most lyrically dense album ever made, I highly recommend it, songs like Mural, Mural Jr, Ms Mural, Prisoner 1&2, Adoration of the Magi, Wav Files, King Nas, and Precious Things for example are some of the best showcases of lyricism ever in rap but people don’t look out for Lupe anymore.
@barry4649 Жыл бұрын
@@secondary479 bro, listen to the 5 I said or even the songs I listed, I knew you’d do this. I don’t want to argue on here, these songs and albums are great, and the most lyrical rap albums ever made. Please go and listen if you think Lupe only has two classics

My top five 1: Lil Wayne; He’s my favorite because of his actual rapping skills. Despite having many many bad songs, he has just as many and more good songs or amazing ones. He has such a giant amount of songs that you’re bound to find many many songs from him that you’d like even if he doesn’t always make hits. Also lil Wayne features are basically all amazing. 2: Tupac; His emotion and messages in certain songs is very touching. He also has some of the most aggressive and destructive songs and especially for hit em up. He has three in my opinion just near perfect albums in Me Against the world, All Eyez on Me, and Makaveli. 3: Kendrick Lamar; His rapping skill is nearly unmatched and has many interesting performances and vocal range. He also has arguably what I believe is the best rap album ever made. You can rely on each album to touch on important subjects and give a unique feeling. 4: Nas; He made again another arguably best album in rap and a few other amazing albums, Stillmatic also being one of my favorite rap albums (probably in my top 20 or 30). 5: The Notorious B.I.G; He has two near perfect rap albums that give such an interesting range of emotions. (Honorable mentions: Dr. Dre, Andre 3000, DMX, certain members of Wu-Tang, MF DOOM and Tyler the Creator)

I've noticed that most people confuse the list of favorite rappers with the list of the greatest rappers. The list of the greatest rappers should include the names of people who have reached the top in terms of Impact in development of Hip-Hop , Influence on other Rappers, Longevity, Commercial success, Fame, Storytelling, Punchlines, Rap skills (lyricism, cadence, flow)... For now, there are 5 rappers who meet ALL these conditions (no part.order): 2Pac, Biggie, Eminem, Jay-Z and Nas. Top10 + Kendrick, Kanye, Lil Wayne, Andre3k, Rakim
