Our van won’t start, CYCLONE on its way! | QLD - VANLIFE

We leave the island after 6 weeks of work only to find that our van won’t start and a cyclone is fast approaching! We scramble to get ourselves and the van to safety before Cyclone Kirrily hits.

Next time Joey gets cranky like that, check if it has a ballast resistor on the start circuit. They give trouble like that while crank starting.

We got rid of the old ballast resistor as the part was nearly impossible to find spares for, So now we run an internal resistor ignition coil. Not to say it wasn’t the resistor inside the coil that threw in the towel but yes, the ballast types are very old school and temperamental. Cheers mate 🍻

If condensation is an issue.during storage, is there a way.to.prevent that from occurring?
