OUR VISIT TO THE CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW IN LONDON: When things don't go as planned// Happy Friday, As promised today we're sharing Part II of our visit to London where we went just a week before the Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee. Months ago we bought tickets to the Chelsea Flower Show 2022 because it has been on our wish list for more than 20 years. Expectations were high so we tell you what we actually think of it and if it's really worth going. We also share parts of 'Chelsea in Bloom' which always happens alongside the Chelsea Flower Show - Chelsea's retailers, hotels and restaurants have the most beautiful flower displays. Chelsea is wonderful to explore!! We hope you enjoy the video! Kirsten & Jörg xx

I could not have stayed in the very crowded, noisy Flower show either… just too overwhelming when one is more of a one-on-one person. It was sweet of Joerg to film the flower show and put beautiful peaceful music behind it so your utube viewers got the best of both worlds: beautiful flowers and peaceful music. Thanks to both of you🥰

Joerg did a really good job of filming the gardens at the CFS and managed to do it without showing any crowds; you should do more filming, Joerg! I imagine it would be virtually impossible to film the other areas without filming members of the public, many of whom might object to being filmed when enjoying a day out. Then, you'd have to spend editing time, blanking out their faces! Well done, Joerg, you showed the beauty of the CFS gardens.

I understand completely. I haven't been to a major flower show in over 6 years. I lived in Philadelphia, PA, USA and would make every effort each year to attend the Philadelphia Flower Show each year, prior to the pandemic. My heart broke for you at the way you were treated in that restaurant. This happened to us once and it makes you feel so unwanted and it is hurtful. To have to pay for a time to be treated that way is adding insult to injury. We were very patient and kind to the server when they came but could not wait to exit as we were 'invisible'. You two are so upbeat and sweet and should have been treasured. The video was full of beauty and I, like you, Kirsten, do not like crowds at events like Flower shows. So I do what you did and go out and enjoy the fresh air while my husband took pictures as crowds do not bother him. The outside decorations were beautiful and they came with no crowds and were free. Sorry a 20 year dream fell short for you but your love for each other shone through. A good teaching video and honest. (hugs)

I am like you Kirsten, I don't mind some people around, if I feel like I am being squeezed, the enjoyment is gone, so seeing the creative designs of the flowers, artfulness of other items in Chelsea was super fun as well. Gives me ideas for more fun in my gardens, on an island in the state of Maine (US). I truly enjoy your videos, they keep me calm and happy, thank you!

Loved the video! The flowers were gorgeous. The creativity of the displays were impressive. Thank you for sharing. Also, for sharing the not so perfect aspects of your adventures. That is reality and is important to share these bits as well.

Oooh! I loved seeing the flowers. Not only at the Chelsea flower show but all around the streets in honor of Queen Elizabeth's platinum jubilee. I've planted lupines, painted daisies, bachelor's buttons and California poppies a few weeks ago in my garden, but after seeing the video, I sure wish I could have planted delphiniums, too. I hope despite that French restaurant bummer, you've been enjoying your London trip!

Oh yes, Kirsten…I’m with you! I don’t mind crowds, but when you showed that first shot of the flower show and how it was wall-to-wall people shoulder to shoulder, I said to Ian, “there’s no way I could enjoy being in that!” Joerg did a beautiful job filming the flower show! We also love the William Morris display! Hey the display with the waning trees reminded me of Kiftsgate Garden in Gloucestershire. So pretty! It was interesting to see all of the flowers around other parts of Chelsea that you explored! The whole area was getting in a very floral mood! I enjoyed seeing all the Jubilee displays when we were in London! 💜👑 So many towns and cities have a “town in bloom“ in Britain during the summer. I have really enjoyed seeing those around the country! 🌸🇬🇧 The Chelsea in Bloom trail looked AMAZING!!! I wish we had known about that when we were in London! We would’ve loved to of seen it. There was so much to see! Honestly, my favorite thing in the whole video was probably the tiered afternoon tea tray made all from flowers! Thanks so much for taking us all around to these lovely places in this video! Cheers! XX Dara & Ian

My word Dara, the crowds at the Chelsea Flower Show were madness, it was absolutely ridiculous and like that everywhere (what you saw in the beginning). Jörg didn't like it either but he has more patience so could cope more but we both agreed on the fact that we won't go there again. Chelsea in Bloom is so fun and we only saw a small fraction. Should you be in the UK next May, you can do it, it's also every year. We so LOVE the tiered afternoon tray too, it was so beautiful. Hope you're keeping very well.xx

Hello and Good morning to you. I have enjoyed all of your videos, I am with Kristen I had a similar experience this year at the Hampton court flower show, too many people, I was not able to take my time and enjoy the displays, I felt as though I had to be constantly moving seeing nothing but the backs of people's heads. Also it rained for much of the day, my friend and I found an open marquee with some available seats and sat out most of the afternoon. There were limited opportunities to take photos . After saying that, it was something I had wanted to do for a while now. I have been had the experience don't need to do it again. A trip to Kew Gardens the following day was so much better worthwhile and yes I would go again. Thank you for your honest accounts of places to visit. 🙏🌹

Hello Linda! Oh no, I so get that - so sorry that it wasn't enjoyable. So many people recommended the Hampton Court Flower Show but it seems to be very busy now as well. Since we create videos it doesn't seem an option to go there as people keep running in front of your camera and you simply can't enjoy it for a second either. So glad to hear that Kew Gardens was nice for you.

Hello and thank you for your replies, I often go to the Southport flower show, when it all gers a bit too much I go to the bowling green on site and have a relaxing time watching various matches or just sit chatting to whoever comes along . Great day out . 🤗🌞

Life sometimes is a reality. I watched the whole Chelsea flower show on Brit box sponsored by Gardner’s world. I think it was at least 10 shows. Excellent way to see ALL of it. I could see it was very crowned. I am NOT a huge crowd fan myself. So for those of you who want to see it and the Garden exhibits go watch that show. I could see people were not allowed to walk through them, only view them from the outside. Feel you guys are honest and we like that about you. I am sure people who visit England would take your advice and go see or stay at places you have share on your channel. So honesty is the best policy. Thanks for sharing the shop decorations were beautiful as well.

Kirsten, I am absolutely agreeing with you!! The Philadelphia Flower Show is the same...tons of people...I myself can not enjoy it and it costs about 75.00 to get in unless you are a member. We would much rather spend the day at Longwood Gardens or Winterthur or the Morris Arboretum. The flowers you filmed were beautiful as was Chelsea..thanks again for sharing!!

I suppose that, after 2 years of being cooped up, everyone is longing to enjoy all the sights and shows. That river of people coming towards you, in between the tented vendors, was quite daunting! I’m sorry that the Flower Show crowds were too much for you, Kirsten, and that, after a long day, your meal experience did not come even close to meeting your expectations. What you and Joerg filmed was quite wonderful, Kirsten, and I enjoyed it. Stay well, and take care.🤩🌸

Kristen I truly can appreciate your apprehension with large crowds of people. I have become far less tolerant with age. That being said, I am so happy Joerg was able to film the show, it was amazing!! You are not the first KZbin artist to admit they were unable to film the flower show because of the large crowds. Chelsea in bloom was beautiful; Thank you for sharing. Maybe you could try another year when not in conjunction with the jubilee. As always, love your videos. 😊

I tell you, if this hadn’t had commentary, we would never have suspected that your day was not as planned..! Everything was stunning..! The photography was lovely.. (thank you Joerg..!) The photography of the surrounding area was lovely as well… (thank you Kirsten..!) We received a wonderful cross section of the whole day. We never would have known it wasn’t ‘just perfect’..!! Sorry it didn’t go as well as expected for YOU..! I, for one, loved every minute. I’m like Kirsten… if there is a ‘sale’ and the prices are marvelous, but I know there will be massive amounts of people… I would rather pay full price than harangue with the masses to get a bargain. Too many people for me, too..! Thank you, Joerg for staying the course..!! God bless you both..!

I live in the mid-south of the United States in Tenneessee. In the summer we have temps that can go 100' with 110' heat index. And little rain. I know you get put out with dreary days, but you have beautiful flowers to cheer you. Our little girls just suffer!

How wonderful that you finally got to attend the Chelsea Flower Show in London. It might have been crowded, but at least the weather looked perfect and you got to see so much wonderful things. I’m a bit like you Kirsten, I do get a bit overwhelmed when a place is crowded and need to leave. At least Joerg filmed some lovely parts that you missed, but will be able to watch later of course. In the meantime, you also were able to film some of the lovely sights around you on your walk. Thank you for a very enjoyable video. Till the next time, take care as always 🤗😘🇨🇦

Thanks so much Carole! Unfortunately it was the busiest place we have ever come across (and we have been to many places in our lives so far). Jörg wanted to film and look at the gardens (which was very hard with the crowds) because we paid for the tickets but he didn't enjoy all the people at all. Now we know and won't be going again.
