I have six sets of Oxo tongs in various lengths that I use almost daily. After many trips through the dishwasher the rubber grips let loose and won’t stay affixed to the handles. They’re still usable and are my go to utensils for just about everything in the kitchen. I also keep a long pair in the shed for disposing of deceased rodents around the homestead. I’d like to see a video on non-stick skillets. I actually like Farberware the best, nice heavy bottom and rugged non-stick coating.

Best ones are usually the NSF-certified ones you find at the restaurant supply store and sometimes at membership stores. The good thing about kitchen tongs is that it's easy to tell the good ones before you buy them by material, the way they look, close, lock and feel in the hand. An important factor is also the ones that don't have crevices that can trap dirt. Some even come in different colors for color coding 😉

Not that it really affects their usability, but the silicone on the winning tongs came off after a few months of use, for me. All of it, including the stuff around the loop. Not having silicone pincers for grill tongs seems kinda obvious to me just based on the fact that I can get my grill up to 700+ degrees, which is well beyond what I've seen silicone rated for. Finally, when my grill is ridiculously hot, I prefer longer tongs that keep my hands as far from the heat as possible, so I prefer the 16" model.

It's literally the same effort to wipe them off than put them in a dish washer and unload them. Don't put knives, cutting boards, or tongs in a dish washer. I don't know why people even bother with dishwashers.

They're over 2x the cost of heavy Winco which are industrial quality used in professional kitchens.

The OXO tongs tend to break after 5 years.

Hah! Just did my Christmas shopping. YAY! 🎄 $13 x 20 gifts = $260. Done deal, but ordered them directly from OXO, via USPS... hey, we have a few months until Christmas, giving plenty of time to store them in the garage, for a co-worker or fellow foodie, friend... guess what they're all getting for Christmas... mom and dad, my sibs, friends, neighbors, fellow Church members, perhaps our Mayor, Police Department, Fire Department (who have a full kitchen, as they sleep on site in shifts, 24.7 to serve and protect all of us)... Buy an extra dozen to share? Stay safe, everyone.

How does a grill taste food? They use their tongs. This is a terrible pun.

Surely the revered Massachusetts institute of Technology has better things to do than measure the force required to close kitchen tongues
